Dormitory Construction Progress

The new dormitory and bedding will accommodate 80 more children. Students who board at St. Jerome benefit enormously by avoiding the often long walk (up to 10K) each way. Some students would not be able to attend school at all without this option as their homes are too far. Other students might have to miss class on occasion during the rainy season when walking could become dangerous both in terms of the muddy road conditions and the children's health.  This would interrupt their learning progress. An on-campus residence provides them a secure and stable place to stay and includes health benefits and nutrition. It guarantees readiness to learn!

COVE Annual Appeal

During this Lenten season we are asked not to detach ourselves from our world of responsibilities but to continue to use our energy to make our world better. Our prayer and fasting time can be used to remember that there are children who live in poverty, who really hunger for education, food and water. We ask you to partner with COVE this Lenten season and help the disadvantaged children of Uganda. Give up just one dinner out, a night at the movies, or even just your favorite specialty coffee/tea drink and consider contributing the financial equivalent to COVE. Your donation to the general fund will help us provide for additional needs; for example, construction of wells for clean water, building of schools/dormitories, growing crops and raising animals.

Mrs. Nalubega Harriet Matovu, a head teacher of Balatira primary school has noticed that children are eager to be educated and now have the opportunity to stay in school because of their sponsor's support through COVE Alliance. She is grateful for the books that were shipped through the generosity and time spent by volunteers and Book Friends International. She describes them as "...lifelong gift of education"

There is economic growth in Kapeeka, Uganda and many community members think that COVE has been a big part of that growth through inspiration.

Donations can be made using the remittance envelope enclosed in the packet that you received or you can contribute online at www.covealliance.org using PayPal.
