Mary Alphonse Bradley Grant Awarded

servantsisters

On October 15, 2012, COVE Alliance was awarded a much needed grant in the amount of $29,000 from the Mary Alphonse Bradley Fund to be used toward the construction and furnishing of the St. Jerome COVE Dormitory Project in Kapeeka, Uganda.  The new dormitory will relieve the cramped quarters the children have been living in, so we are very grateful to be able to get this project underway soon.  Read the note of thanks below to all who were a part of securing this grant and improving the lives of the children of COVE.

Dear friends:

Just a note of gratitude to all of you for your efforts toward making the MABF grant for the dormitory construction and bedding possible.  It is definitely the actions of all of us together in collaboration that helped COVE win the grant.  For example:

The joy and eagerness of the children to learn - inspire us all to participate in something important together!

The Mary Alphonse Bradley Fund partnering with COVE.

The budget work from COVE Uganda that needed to happen up front was well prepared in advance and helped us present a solid plan!

The on-the-ground operations team in Uganda has already seen one dormitory constructed, the second one brings confidence and hope to both Uganda and our Donors.

The anonymous matching grant was also very strategic in allowing COVE to ensure that this project would be fully supported.

COVE USA/COVE Uganda board support was also key in their leadership and readiness for any kind of help. The general warm moral support from everyone, the editing help, the financials from COVE U.S, the newsletters that keeps up communication of COVE projects are all part of supporting this project to it's completion. We are also so lucky to have a free space to meet and have a growing group of COVE members cheering us on and working with us in other capacities.  The list really is endless!

This kind of teamwork will help us in the future too!

With Gratitude

Christmas Appeal

Each year, Fr. Hilary hosts a Christmas party for the children, their families/guardians and staff members.  This is a time to celebrate their hard work and accomplishments and to give each child a special gift.  All of our wonderful sponsors are asked each year to contribute to this party as a way to provide each sponsored child a Christmas gift of equal value.

But even if you don't sponsor a child, you can help, too!  Additional funds are always welcome to cover the cost of the party and the many other day-to-day expenses required to run the St. Jerome COVE Center.  Simply click the Donate button over on the upper right side to make a contribution or mail your check to the address listed there.

The COVE Officers and Board Members wish you and your families a very peaceful holiday season. May God bless you for all you do to help the vulnerable and orphaned children of Uganda.
