Ready for Fall?
No matter where we are in our life it seems we are ruled by "Back to School" time. Maybe it's our memories or the change of season or just seeing the kids and buses on the corner. It does set up a new set of parameters heading toward the next holidays. That said, we hope you had a terrific time over Labor Day weekend!
The market normally takes a break over the holiday weeks but we've seen things continue to be quite busy! With just 16,992 active listings in the Twin Cities currently, it remains a seller's market with many buyers still seeking out the perfect spot. A balanced market historically has been at 24,000 listings meaning a great time to sell if you're still thinking about it.
According to a report issued at the end of August by N.A.R:
*Total existing-home sales, which include single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and co-ops, increased 2% in July, keeping sales at the highest pace since February 2007.
*Existing-home sales have now increased year-over-year for ten months and are more than 10% higher than they were last year at this time.
There are some indications that mortgage rates may be poised to increase in the coming months, so if you're looking to attract the greatest numbers of buyers, consider listing now. Similarly, if you're looking to buy a home, you may want to begin your search soon, as home prices continue to climb, and interest rates on mortgage loans may soon follow suit.
Enjoy what September has to offer - new friends at school, football games, grilling, fall golf, gorgeous colors - whatever you can bring to it. Make it your new appreciation. Hope to see you soon! Keep your calls, texts, emails coming our way. We appreciate the opportunity to be of service!
Sincerely,
Lori & Jackie
