Hello all!

We just experienced the longest day of the year. That worked out great for all the Dads! Hope you all had a wonderful time. June is such a beautiful month. An abundance of sunshine and even a good rain brings about all the bright colors of spring and summer. You can see and feel a bit of "happy" in everyone as we're all out to walk, run, bike, golf, swim, garden or hear some great music. Whatever the summer plans are I hope your chores are small and your fun and enjoyment endless!

Our market remains strong as you'll see in the May Skinny report. Seems like I've been saying that for many months now and it's true. Although it still tips as a seller's market, both sellers and buyers seem to be quite pleased with end results. It's a known fact that many property owners in other states do not prepare their homes for selling like we do in Minnesota.  An elevated sense of pride always shines through and makes all the difference in achieving your most compelling price.

Jackie and I are keeping it all alive in this busy market. It's amazing what each transaction can bring about. Every situation is so unique. After 25 years you think you've seen, heard or experienced it all. Not the case! New experiences never end which makes our job challenging, interesting and fun!  Knowledge, compassion and the ability to educate and provide direction are always top of mind. And we love what we do.

Enjoy these gorgeous days!

3 Ways To Add Unique, Affordable Art To Your Home

If you don't have $179 million for an original Picasso, don't fret. There are lots of places you can find original art that won't make you take out a second mortgage.

"Collecting art can be an expensive habit, but these days there are plenty of places to get amazing original art for a great price," said POPSUGAR.

1. Original Art

Check out Buzzfeed's "21 Places To Buy Original Art That's Actually Affordable" for lots of options starting at or under $20 apiece.

One of our favorites is Sebastian Foster, "a contemporary art gallery and print studio located in Austin, Texas" that offers limited edition artist prints.

This painting "Ambassadors of the Otherworldly" by Andy Kehoe, signed and numbered and priced at $50, is giving us a Starry Starry Night vibe with some Texas flair.

Six Ways To Make Lighting The Star Of Your Home

You can swap out your couch, get a new dining room table, paint your walls a new color, change up the furniture placement, but if you don't have the right lighting, the space still might not feel pulled together.

"The lighting in a home changes the mood of a room just as it does the perceived size of a room," said SFGATE. The elements that come together when the right lighting is achieved transform a room into a seamless combination of functionality and style."

1. Lighting plans

Key to quality lighting design is having a "layered" plan with different types of lighting serving different purposes.

"The concept of layering light is particularly important in the living/family room, an area of the house where people tend to gather for long stretches of time and engage in an array of activities, including conversation, watching TV, reading, playing board games and using a laptop," said HGTV.
