Hi everyone~
Looks like we can finally leave the vortex behind! Summer is quickly approaching and we've all started those household projects. Planning outdoor parties, cleaning out the house, and watching the May flowers bloom. Tune up your bikes and take down the coolers. Taking in a Twins game is perfect and watching the Wild even better! It's so nice to once again see color around us. Seems everyone is soaring........I photographed the eagle below just outside my office in Eagan a couple days ago. Normally you'll see hawks along the roads watching over us all but this was a special treat!
It's a beautiful time of year to feature your home since we're into a very busy real estate season. Take a look at "The Skinny" and see the numbers. Inventory is still at an all-time low and we are full swing back into a "traditional" market where listings of foreclosures, short sales and bank owned no longer dominate. Hope you have a great month.Hope all the Moms enjoyed your special day!
If you or someone you know is interested in buying or selling, please don't hesitate to give me a call.

By: Lisa Kaplan Gordon Has the polar vortex wrecked your lawn? Here's how to bring back the green. A polar vortex has pounded lawns this winter with ridiculous sub-zero temperatures and record snowfalls. So don't be surprised if parts of your lawn - especially in low-lying areas - are dead on arrival in spring. "Snow acts like a cover, but ice is bad for turf," says Chris Lemcke, technical director of Weed Man USA lawn care. "Ice freezes plant cells and crushes blades and leads to death." Freeze-thaw-freeze conditions are even worse for turf roots, which can become brittle and die. Road salt also is bad for lawns. The turf near streets and along driveways and paths may need resuscitation or replacement when spring grass should be greening up.

Recently, HousingWire asked David Berson, chief economist at Nationwide, for his opinion on the near-term future of housing. Below are what Mr. Berson believes to be the three things you need to know about housing in 2014. We have included a quote from the article and a small comment from KCM for all three points. Number 1: 2014 should prove to be the strongest year for housing activity since before the Great Recession.
"Most economists expect an improved job market in 2014, with employment growth accelerating and the unemployment rate continuing to decline. That jobless rate drop will reflect more of a pickup in employment than further declines in the labor force participation rate. This will be the key factor improving housing demand this year, even if mortgage rates rise and affordability declines. While the housing market tends to do especially well when the job market improves and mortgage rates decline simultaneously, that combination of events occurs only rarely...People buy homes when their job and income prospects improve - even if it's more expensive to do so - rather than buy when it is inexpensive to do so but they're worried about keeping their jobs."
