MLA Fall Fling Returns to Branson

Plan now to attend the MLA Fall Fling,

November 6-7, at the Hilton Promenade in Branson. The convenient location enables members from all parts of our territory to attend.

This year, we'll focus on healthy cash flow and managing your credit accounts. The quality of a dealer's credit program has a direct impact on cash flow and sales. Savvy dealers recognize what others do not: Being great at credit is an offensive weapon, not a back-office necessity. Unfortunately, most dealers lack clarity for how good (or not) their credit program is and specific insights on how to make it great. Nearly all are under-investing in the resources and expertise they need to make it happen.

More information about the meeting is on its way. In the meantime, save the date and plan to be with your fellow members in Branson on November 6-7.

Five New HR Webinars for Members

gotowebinar reg

MLA, in conjunction with other LBM associations, is offering a series of five webinars to help you up your game in the HR arena. The first webinar is set for Thursday, November 13, at 1 p.m. CST, on "How to Conduct a Legal Interview." Click here to learn more.
Invite a Legislator to Your Business

Congress has left Washington for its annual August recess and will not return until September 8. NLBMDA wants to give you the tools you need to engage your elected officials during the five-week break as members of the House and Senate return to their districts/states.

Most elected officials - state and federal - have never seen the operations of a lumberyard or building materials manufacturing facility. Most have little idea of what goes on in our industry and often have misconceptions about the lumber and building products industry.

Let MLA help you set up a visit to your business from an elected official. We'll help with the arrangements and have the talking points on the industry. It's a short meeting - usually over a lunch hour. Call Robert Uhler for more information at 800-747-6529.
