Advent & Christmas Sermon Series

We invite you to experience comfort and joy in a very special worship service series for Advent. Each service in the 4-part series focuses on a selected portion of Isaiah 40 that captures one of four specific aspects of the comfort Christ comes to bring-peace, pardon, presence and power. November 30th (Peace of Christ) is based on Isaiah 40:1-2 and highlights for us that true peace comes only through Jesus Christ and the forgiveness that he brings. He ends warfare without and within. He is our one and only Prince of Peace.

Christmas Poinsettias...

Would you like to purchase a beautiful Poinsettia in honor of or in memory of a loved one? The cost is $12 per plant and they will be placed in the Sanctuary on December 7. Please pick up and fill out a form (located on both Information Desks), and include it with your check, made payable to MABC. You can place the form and your check in the offering plate on Sundays, or mail them to the church office.

Hanging of the Green Service...

Please join us this Sunday at 9:45am in the Gathering Room for our annual Hanging of the Green Service. This will take place in lieu of Sunday School.

Deck the Halls...

Join us on Wednesday, December 3rd at 5:30pm for Deck the Halls. We will have several soups/chili options for dinner and then begin decorating the Gathering Room and McBride Room at 6pm.

Church Family Christmas Dinner...

December 7th, following the Singing Around the Chrismon Tree event. Please call the church office or email Carrie to RSVP (by December 4th). There is no cost for the meal but we will need to know how many people to plan for.

Helping Commission Baptist Serve Liberia...

Last Sunday and again this Sunday, our sister church, Commission Baptist, distributed more than four tons of rice, beans, cooking oil, seasoning, and cassava (similar to sweet potatos) to 100 households in their congregation and community. Additionally, they are providing food to both a blind and deaf/mute enclave.

MABC provided $4000 in late October for our Christian brothers and sisters in Liberia. Last week, we received $3125 in offerings for a November distribution of food.

Rev. Augustine S. Weah, Sr., sends this message from our sister church: "May I express our gratitude for the tremendous efforts you have been exerting in bringing the congregation of Commission nearer in sight and in heart to your congregation. Our food distribution will conclude this Sunday. And our sister Kebbeh is out of Ebola quarantine; her children and husband are well; and they will all return to worship with us at the beginning of December.
