Sunday Sermon Series:

Date
Topic
Sermon
October 12The Golden CalfThe Humiliation of the Word
October 19Moses in the Cleft of the RockSpeak Up, God

Take notice of the table on the right side of the pulpit this Sunday!
Our story table on the right side of the pulpit is getting filled with objects to recreate the story of Moses and the Exodus! So far, we have:
1. dark brown burlap and blue napkins to show Egypt as a place of good dark soil with water running through it;
2. a baby doll in a basket to show Moses "drawn from the water" by Pharaoh's daughter;
3. a red candle to represent the burning bush from which God spoke to Moses as "THE I AM;"
4. the Seder plate with parsley and bitter herbs to remind us of the lushness of Egypt but the hardship of the Israelite situation;
5. the Israelites crossing the Red Sea on dry ground to tell the story of the amazing power of God;
6. the lighter brown burlap to show the wilderness through which the Israelites journeyed; and,
7. manna and meat to demonstrate the provision of God when times were rough for the Israelites in the wilderness.
8. a rock with water to show how God heard the Israelites' grumblings and met their needs.
9. 10 commandment tablets that remind us of the ways to live God sent through Moses for us.
We look forward to seeing what we add this week and to remembering where we have journeyed thus far! The journey ends on October 26th so the end is in sight...
Students @ Milledge

Thank you for those who came and helped unload pumpkins last week!   With so many working together we got it accomplished really quickly.

Corn Maze Trip
An aMAZEing opportunity! Immediately after worship all 5th-12th graders are invited to come to a corn maze extravaganza.  We will eat lunch at Stevie B's and then travel to Jaemor Farms in Alto, GA (www.jaemorfarms.com) to see the pretty leaves, have a hayride, and take a pirate adventure through their maze.  The cost is $15, which includes lunch.  What a great opportunity to bring a friend, too!  Parent pick up will be at 6 pm.  This event will take the place of the regular Planet 56 and Inside Out activities for that night.

Pumpkin Patch
Sunday, October 19th is another pumpkin unload day. Please come and help us work after church to get the truck empty. We will not have P56 or Inside Out that night.

Children's Program
Make sure you have Sunday, October 26th down on your calendar at 11 am. Our children's choir has been working very hard on Wednesday evenings learning and producing the play, "Are we there yet? The story of Moses and the Exodus." There will be music, dancing, instruments, drama, costumes, and lots of humor in the play. Hope you can attend!

Planet 56/Inside Out
Sunday evening October 26th we will have P56 and Inside Out.  P56 will continue their advent study.  Inside Out is having a Halloween party and watching Scooby Doo as it references Wicca, which we previously discussed,  Come for supper at 5, recreation at 5:30 and activities at 6.  Parent pick up at 7 pm.
