Sunday Sermon Series:

Date
Topic
Sermon
October 5The Law at Mount SinaiThe Ten Commandments
October 12The Golden CalfThe Humiliation of the Word
October 19Moses in the Cleft of the RockSpeak Up, God

Take notice of the table on the right side of the pulpit this Sunday!

Our story table on the right side of the pulpit is getting filled with objects to recreate the story of Moses and the Exodus! So far, we have:
1. dark brown burlap and blue napkins to show Egypt as a place of good dark soil with water running through it;
2. a baby doll in a basket to show Moses "drawn from the water" by Pharaoh's daughter;
3. a red candle to represent the burning bush from which God spoke to Moses as "THE I AM;"
4. the Seder plate with parsley and bitter herbs to remind us of the lushness of Egypt but the hardship of the Israelite situation;
5. the Israelites crossing the Red Sea on dry ground to tell the story of the amazing power of God;
6. the lighter brown burlap to show the wilderness through which the Israelites journeyed; and,
7. manna and meat to demonstrate the provision of God when times were rough for the Israelites in the wilderness.
8. a rock with water to show how God heard the Israelites' grumblings and met their needs.

We look forward to seeing what we add this week and to remembering where we have journeyed thus far!
Students @ Milledge

Thank you for those who came and helped unload pumpkins last week! With so many working together we got it accomplished really quickly.

Sunday, we are back to our regular schedule of supper at 5 pm, recreation at 5:30 pm, and Bible study at 6 pm. P56 is beginning an Advent study on Zechariah and Inside Out is beginning a study on different religious sects. Parent pick up is still at 7 pm. Next Sunday is the Corn Maze so we will not have regular activities.

Pumpkin Unloading
Wednesday, October 8th is our next unload day. There will NOT be regular Wednesday night supper or midweek activities for adults and youth, instead we ask your help in getting the patch set up with the next truck. For children pre-k-6th grade, we will eat pizza at 5 and then rehearse the play in its entirety until 7:15 or so. Please come to this important time of rehearsal. Parents, please come and help unload the truck!

Corn Maze Trip
An aMAZEing opportunity! On Sunday, October 12th immediately after worship all 5th-12th graders are invited to come to a corn maze extravaganza. We will eat lunch at Stevie B's and then travel to Jaemor Farms in Alto, GA
(www.jaemorfarms.com) to see the pretty leaves, have a hayride, and take a pirate adventure through their maze. The cost is $15, which includes lunch. What a great opportunity to bring a friend, too! Parent pick up will be at 6 pm. This event will take the place of the regular Planet 56 and Inside Out activities for that night. Let Ginny know if you plan to come and we will have a great time.

Pumpkin Patch
Sunday, October 19th is another pumpkin unload day. Please come and help us work after church to get the truck empty. We will not have P56 or Inside Out that night.

Children's Program
Make sure you have Sunday, October 26th down on your calendar at 11 am. Our children's choir has been working very hard on Wednesday evenings learning and producing the play, "Are we there yet? The story of Moses and the Exodus." There will be music, dancing, instruments, drama, costumes, and lots of humor in the play. Hope you can attend!
