Passport Kids! Follow the road to Passport 2014
by being a MABC camp buddy this year!

How it works:
  1. BEFORE we go, you prepare 4 notes that tie in with the day's theme and activities and also have a Bible verse and a clue to your identity for Ginny to take to camp. Each night of camp, your camper is given your note to read.
  2. While we are at camp, you prepare a little gift. Once we return, you present your camper the gift and reveal who you are.

Why it is fun:
The children love trying to guess and figure out your identity by the clues you give them.

The benefit:
  1. You get to know a child and a child gets to know you better!
  2. The children have a remembrance from MABC each day to know they are not forgotten.
  3. The children have their homesickness eased by the fun of a mystery.
  4. The children have another tie in with the Passport theme Bible lessons and Bible themes each day.
  5. New friends are made between generations that can last a lifetime!

What Ginny provides you:
The name, age, and other information of a camper ASAP; the daily themes, Bible stories, and activities for Passport Kids! camp.

If you're interested and becoming a camp buddy, please contact Ginny via email.

Scripture Readers Needed...
If you would like to volunteer as a Scripture Reader during our worship service, please let us know by emailing or calling the office.

Smart Lunch, Smart Kid...
For the second summer, MABC is the host site of Smart Lunch, Smart Kid - an outreach of Action Ministries ("Our Daily Bread"). From now until the beginning of school in August, sack lunches are prepared daily for 300-400 children in Athens who are in danger of receiving only one meal per day. Last year, Smart Lunch, Smart Kid delivered more than 30,000 lunches to children in Athens! Here's how you can help:
  • We need a MABC volunteer to coordinate MABC's response.
  • We need Sunday School classes, choir groups and others to volunteer to make and stuff sack lunches.
  • We need drivers who can deliver the sack lunches to the apartment complexes across Athens.
