Easter
|
What was Easter like at your house as a kid? Well at my house, my mom always had us kids a chocolate Easter bunny and a basket. We always dyed eggs and tried not to break them before Sunday. On Easter Sunday morning I would always go outside to look in the nest (prepared by my mom) to find more eggs. We never asked if the bunnies really laid eggs. My mother always made it special for us by having Easter egg hunts. What wonderful memories she created for me and my two sisters.
Did you ever ask yourself as an adult, where did all that come from? Well, I really don't know and really don't care!!! What is really important is why Christians celebrate Easter. We celebrate it because Jesus arose, (that means he came back to life three days after he was killed and buried). Wow! That is something to celebrate and shout about. It gets me excited just to think about it!
I hope that all of you who celebrate Easter will enjoy this special day with family and friends, and don't forget to tell others!!!
I Appreciate You! Ed Shimpock, AHC, VP, General Manager

Bird Nests
|
Ingredients:
- 4 cups Chow Mein Noodles
- 3 cups Marshmallows
- ¼ cup Margarine Or Butter
- Candy Eggs (Cadbury's speckled malted mini eggs)
Directions: Melt marshmallows and butter in the microwave for approximately 3 minutes. Stir in noodles quickly until coated. Mixture may seem dry. This is normal and will help nest set up better. Butter your hands and place in muffin tin and indent with fingers into a nest-like shape and let nest begin to dry. Transfer to parchment paper to harden. Once cooled, place 2 or 3 candy eggs into the center.
