Will 2014 bring on better days than the past?

Well, I just don't know and neither does anyone else. As human beings we always want better but many of us are unwilling to change in order to make things better. Now I don't believe that "Change" just for the sake of "Change" will ever benefit any of us. There are 5 things that I gleaned from Valorie Burton's coaching letter that we need to remember on our journey to betterment.
  1. NOTHING IS PERMANENT - A fact that should encourage us to revel in the joy your life brings and minimize your frustration when you encounter circumstances you don't like.
  2. YOU ARE EITHER LIVING ON PURPOSE OR LIVING BY ACCIDENT - Too many people wander through life haphazardly - latching on to people, jobs and things just because they crossed their path. Then they wake up one day wondering, "How on earth did I get here?" I call it "living by accident." In order to create a fulfilling life, you have to be purposeful in your decisions.
  3. FEAR DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN "STOP" - Fear is as powerful as you allow it to be. Most of us feel fear and interpret that feeling as a warning to stop moving forward. In truth, we should interpret most fear as a natural emotion that pops up every time we venture to do something outside of our comfort zone. When you feel fear, keep moving. It'll stretch you beyond your comfort zone and closer to your goals.
  4. LESS IS MORE - More than ever, our culture is fixated on proving your worth through your money and material possessions. Whole television shows are dedicated to showing you all the stuff other people have. After a while, it can be pretty challenging not to compare your "stuff" to everyone else's. But true self-empowerment comes from knowing that nothing material will ever prove your worth. Your worth comes from who you are - a child of God -  and the impact you make in the lives of others.
  5. THE POWER TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE IS IN THE CHOICES YOU MAKE - This is perhaps the most powerful of lessons. Better choices create better circumstances. It's not what happens to you that most impacts your life. It is how you respond. Your choices create your future.
Use these five things to make your 2014 be a better year than the past. We at Seven Oaks Doors and Hardware are here to help make your year a better year. We want to make a difference in everybody we touch. We are grateful for your support for the past year and are excited as we move into our 25th consecutive year in business.

I Appreciate You!

We removed existing fire rated wood door and installed a new fire rated wood door with Firelite Plus laminated glazing with metal vision kits into existing frame. The existing fire rated door became a safety issue with residents because it opened into the corridor without a view window.

Seven Oaks Christmas Party

Giving Back with the Christmas Seed Project

Scott Gresham, Product Application Specialist at Seven Oaks Doors and Hardware, and his family led the children at his church in a Christmas Seed Project.

Each child in the church was given $5 and told to make that money grow.  The children used the $5 to buy supplies to make and sell baked goods, artwork or crafts.  Some of the kids even auctioned off yard work in order to raise money.  The money was then collected, counted and re-allocated to the children along with the name and wish list of a child from the Angel Tree.

The children raised approximately $6000.00, or enough to sponsor 43 kids from the angel tree.  Each child was given $150 which they used to shop for their angel.  The presents were then wrapped and brought to the church.

Seven Oaks Doors and Hardware provided the box truck to transport the presents to be distributed to the kids.
