Thank You Again!
|
When the Pilgrims had their first Thanksgiving dinner, it was all about giving thanks to God for their escape from persecution, their survival, and the beginning of a new life here on this continent. Although many died the first year, they remembered to give thanks for all the blessings they received through the trials.
As I am writing this article today, I am so thankful for the many blessings in my life. Although I have struggles and problems just like you, the good still far outweighs the bad. Just to know that Seven Oaks Doors & Hardware is approaching our 25th Anniversary is a milestone that many small businesses never see. Because of you, our customers and friends, many employees here receive a steady income with which to support their families. I know they are thankful for that. We here at Seven Oaks Doors & Hardware want to take this time to say Thank You!! Thank you for having confidence in us to meet your door, hardware, and access control needs. Thank you for coming back week after week, month after month, and year after year. We have some customers who have continued with us for the full 25 years! You are special!! And we thank you for being our friends!! I Appreciate You! Ed Shimpock, AHC, VP, General Manager

Chester County Schools
Great Falls Elementary
Before After We installed a steel frame and door unit with panic hardware and closers, with the ability for visitors to be "buzzed in" once they have checked in with the office. This is becoming a very popular means of security in existing schools.

Legislative Changes to Locksmith Act Passed
|
|
The North Carolina General Assembly passed Senate Bill 18 of the 2013 Session with bipartisan support. It contains the most sweeping changes to the North Carolina Locksmith Licensing Act since the original passage in 2001.
The passage of the final bill resulted in three major changes to the current law and addressed many of the concerns of licensed locksmiths:
- It upgrades violation of the Locksmith Licensing Act from a Class 3 Misdemeanor to a Class 1 Misdemeanor and any subsequent offences are Class I Felony. These new criminal classifications will go into effect December 1, 2013.
- It requires all institutional locksmiths to become licensed and offers a grandfathering period of one year (October 1, 2013 to October 1, 2014). This would be for institutional locksmiths who have been working for two or more years. The grandfathering application is found online at www.nclocksmithboard.org, and must be completed by these locksmiths along with documentation (such as a letter from Human Resources Officer); they will not be required to pass the NC Locksmithing Licensing Exam.
- The new law allows the NC Locksmith Licensing Board to raise fees associated with licensing and renewal of license. The board needs resources to adequately enforce the law and police the state for locksmith scam activity.
Additional changes to the North Carolina Locksmith Licensing Act now include car unlocking services also.
