Back to School
|
WOW! It's been only a short time since the kids went "Back to School" and here they go again! Do you ever wonder how much better the education is today verses 100 years ago? We just recently found a final exam from the eighth grade from 1895. How many eighth graders do you think could pass it today? Well, I think they could all pass it today because they could Google all the questions!!!
Life has really changed in the last century from one room school houses and pot bellied stoves to campuses with thousands of children and technology which was not in existence just 5 - 10 years ago! What will it be like for our children and grandchildren in just the next 10 - 15 years? "Be still my heart!" I may be watching a lot from the sidelines and cheering them on.
Don't forget though that Seven Oaks Doors and Hardware is picking up the pace with technology and access control. We can control all your doors electronically and capture the data you need to maintain your security.
Next month we will have an announcement about a new venture we are entering into with another company to expand our capabilities even more. "Stay Tuned!!!"
I Appreciate You!

A Message from the President of Karpen Steel, Rachel Smith

At Karpen Steel Custom Doors & Frames we are all about custom, and this project was no exception. For this opening, our wood grain embossed material was combined with a custom round top vision lite kit from Anemostat.
The doors left Karpen Steel with fully channeled cutouts ready to accept the special shape of the view lite kits. The embossed finish of the wood grained steel gives a textured appearance, and the finish painter did an exceptional job of showing off this type of material. The addition of the polished hardware brings the whole project together.
We don't often get to see the finished project so it was great to see how this job came together, and we are proud to have worked as part of the team with Seven Oaks Doors & Hardware who planned and executed this dramatic opening for Croasdaile Village.

A Message from the National Sales Manager of Anemostat, Ron Hansen
|
At Anemostat, custom vision frames and glass are something that we do every day.
Some custom items are quite simple and are merely custom sized, or a special material.
In this case, custom shaped arch top kits with Mullion bars and specialized Fire-rated glass to match was the requirement.
The challenges that came with this product are twofold. The radiused top of the vision frame, along with the specific mullion pattern that ties into it creates some geometric and manufacturing hurdles to overcome. Coupled with the Firelite Plus laminated glass having to be cut at a radius to match the lite kit, it was a job that we knew would require precision. Nice looking doors- It is always nice to see the end result, but better yet, have a satisfied customer.
