Seven Oaks Doors and Hardware of Oakboro was named the 2013 Small Business of the Year May 13 at an awards luncheon hosted by Stanly County Chamber of Commerce and Stanly Community College Small Business Center.
"Winning this award is a dream come true," said Ed Shimpock, co-founder of Seven Oaks.
Shimpock, along with Foreman Rushing, founded Seven Oaks in 1989.The company specializes in commercial-grade hardware, doors and frames, electronic access control and keypad door locks.
"We started this company 24 years ago as a dream. From day one we've had to make a lot of sacrifices," Shimpock said.
"We work hard to provide after-market products promptly, accurately and at fair market price. That was our mission statement when we first started and we have not waivered from it in the 24 years since." Seven Oaks employs 19 full-time and two part-time workers. The company provides services for schools, hospitals and universities throughout North and South Carolina and parts of Virginia.
Seven Oaks Doors and Hardware was chosen as the award recipient from a group of four finalists, all of which were acknowledged during the luncheon.
The above article was published in the Stanly News and Press on May 14, 2013 and was written by Tiffany Thompson.
"We were very honored to receive this award and wanted to share it with you our customers and friends."
I Appreciate You!
Ed Shimpock, AHC, VP, General Manager

Before After
Last month we showed you some pictures of hollow metal doors that we replaced at Dennis Vineyards in Albemarle, NC. Along with those doors, we also removed a pair of doors which were installed originally in their events center and replaced them with high end Special-Lite SL15 Dark Bronze Aluminum doors and frames along with insulated glass and internal muttins. We also installed LCN 4111 hold open door closers for superior control of a crosswind situation.
