School Safety has "REALLY" Changed
|
As I reminisce, attending school in the 1950's and 60's, school safety was about not running in the halls or jumping off steps and stuff like that. As a matter of fact I was a "Safety Patrol" member in the 8th grade. We had to report to the lead teacher any time we saw any "safety issues", like some guy pulling a girls hair or someone pushing in line, etc. I wasn't very good at it because I didn't like "ratting" or "telling" on other kids, so I quit after a few weeks.
Today, school safety is a "critical issue". Parents, teachers, and administrators are constantly aware and are making every effort to keep kids in a safe and secure environment. Our society is plagued with people who are serious about hurting children. This is a topic that is not pleasant to talk about. However, we at Seven Oaks Doors & Hardware are very knowledgeable of products that restrict school access and help to make schools safer. Recently, Ingersoll Rand's access control folks announced they would be holding classes and webinars on this subject. At the bottom of this page you can access the registration page for these classes and webinars.
Although we will never have all the solutions to correct security and safety issues in schools and other public facilities, we are always willing to work with you to offer suggestions and ideas to help you with your security and safety projects.
I Appreciate You!

Recent Project
|
Due to the Sandy Hook shooting, many schools have decided to improve the security at their schools. Following are just a couple projects in which we have assisted schools in this effort.
Project #1 Rock Hill School Dist. #3 Northside Elementary School
We installed a door and frame unit as a security wall so visitors are "buzzed in" to gain access to the school.
Before After Project #2 Chesterfield Co. Schools Plainview Elementary
At Plainview Elementary they had no barrier between the outside entrance and the rest of the school to prevent visitors from entering the school. In an open hallway, we installed a new frame and doors with electronic hardware to create this security barrier. Now all guests must check in at the office and be granted access ensuring the safety of the students.
See pictures below for view of security barrier wall from both sides.
