Thanksgiving is More Than a "Turkey Day"
|
At this time of the year, most all of us remember why we celebrate Thanksgiving. Many years ago people left their homeland to find a place where they could worship God freely. They came to this country and set up a colony. They suffered and sacrificed in order to worship the God they loved without restriction. Today we still give thanks for that freedom.
We at Seven Oaks Doors and Hardware continue to give thanks for the blessings we receive through having friends and customers like you. We know that each of you have been a part of our success. The relationships we have built over the years are special because we know that without you, we are nothing. Sooo.... let me say again, Thank You!!! We want to make your life easier by being your supplier of choice. We know you have "chosen" us and we will continue to work hard to earn your trust!
I appreciate you, Ed Shimpock VP and General Manager

Customer Spotlight
|
Our featured customer of the month is Harold Wycoff. Harold has been the Plant Operations Facilitator with Fayetteville Technical Community College for 22 years. He and his wife Laveta, are celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary this month. They have two daughters and two great son-in-laws. They also have four grandchildren. He enjoys working in the yard and fishing.
"I have purchased from Seven Oaks Doors & Hardware for over 15 years. I like the customer service we receive. I can count on fast service and a fair price. From Eddie down to the installers, Seven Oaks has been a blessing to work with. I can call and tell Eddie what I have in mind and he puts it together for me in a timely manner. A lot of the times he has a better way in mind that actually saves us some money, which we all need to think about these days. All in all, I would say Seven Oaks still looks out for all those in facility maintenance on an individual basis. Keep up the great work and God's blessings to you all." - Harold Wycoff, Fayetteville Technical Community College

The "Rejuvenator" Mortise Lock Retrofit Kit The "Rejuvenator" is an all-in-one solution for sagging and/or broken levers or spindles on mortise locks. In many cases, the lock body itself is still in good working order. The locks may be discontinued, or the levers and spindles needed to repair the lock are almost as costly as the complete lock. The "Rejuvenator" allows you to repair the lock for a fraction of the price whether the lock is discontinued or not.
Here's how it works: Remove all parts of the mortise lock except body and faceplate. Drill four thru-bolt holes in door. Put thru-bolt kit onto door and reinstall existing cylinders. Because this is a kit, you save a lot on maintenance, can keep your existing keyway, and they come with both rose and escutcheon trims for any application, for any brand, and style of mortise lock.
One of the most useful items about this product is the ease of upgrading a facility to meet ADA compliance by getting rid of the knobs without having to replace the entire lock. This will work for that as well. It is truly a versatile product.

Thanksgiving Travel Tips

Thanksgiving is almost upon us and millions of people will be flooding the highways to get to Grandmother's house for the holiday. Thanksgiving is the most traveled holiday of the year, so how can you travel safely on our roads?
- Use Common Sense on the roads and slow down.
- Perform a pre-trip safety check on your car. Check your tires, wipers and fluids, etc.
- Plan your trip, know your exits and leave early to allow plenty of driving time. Factor in stops for food and rest.
- Have an emergency kit in your car containing a flashlight, blanket, jumper cables, first aid kit, map, tire repair kit, flares, battery powered radio, bottled water and non-perishable food.
- Be aware of changes in weather.
- Know your limitations; don't drive when tired, upset, or physically ill.
- Remember your cell phone and car charger.
- Be aware of truck blind spots on interstates.
- Take care when changing lanes.
- Always remember to buckle up.
