Caregiver Convicted and Sentenced for Abuse
Baltimore, MD - Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler announced today that Nnamdi Adiegwu, 37, of Baltimore, was convicted of Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult in the Second Degree, in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. Judge Justin J. King sentenced the defendant to 364 days in jail, all of which was suspended. Adiegwu will be on probation for the next year and cannot be employed in any capacity with vulnerable adults. Caregiver Sentenced For Assaulting Man With Disability
A caregiver who assaulted a man last year at a facility for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities won't serve jail time, according to Maryland Attorney General Doug F. Gansler. Four people charged in forced-labor case of mentally disabled woman
Three people accused of enslaving a mentally disabled woman and her daughter beat the woman, denied her food, sexually assaulted her, threatened her with dogs and snakes, and hit her badly enough to require a hospital visit for pain medicine, which they took from her, according to an indictment announced yesterday.
