Are Elves Living in Our City Parks?

Elf DoorsWe've noticed evidence of elves in some of our City parks! Tiny doors have been spotted in trees at Great Neck, Bayville Farms and Red Wing parks. If you and your family stumble upon any of these doors, take a photo and post it to our Facebook page so others can share in the elfin magic!

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is a proud landlord of the Tiny Door Project.

Video Highlights Hip Hop 2013 Program

Hip Hop 2013For seven weeks, 19 teens explored the history of hip-hop and delved into emceeing, b-boying, and DJ-ing in our Hip Hop 2013 program at Williams Farm Recreation Center. Collectively, they wrote and recorded an original song, "Takin' Hip Hop Back" that expresses their thoughts on social issues relevant to their generation.

In this video, you'll get an inside look at this collaborative project between Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation, Clever Communities in Action and The Universal Zulu Nation Chapter 30. For information on upcoming workshops, call Williams Farm Recreation Center at (757) 385-2950.
