Enjoy Free Access at Seatack's Open House

Monday, June 17 | 11 am - 2 pm | Seatack Recreation Center


Seatack Open HouseCheck out Seatack Recreation Center for FREE on Monday, June 17 during their Open House from 11 am to 2 pm. You and your family can enjoy the climbing wall, inflatable bounce house, Wii games, complimentary hot dogs and cool refreshments!

As part of the Open House, all areas of the facility will be available to enjoy, including the cardio & weight room, indoor pool, gym, sportwall and climbing wall, without a membership or day pass.

Seatack Recreation Center is located at 141 S. Birdneck Road, within walking distance of the neighborhoods of Lands End Condominium, Salt Marsh Point, Seatack, and Shadowlawn.

It's Carnival Time at Trashmore!

Through Wednesday, June 26 | Mount Trashmore Park


CarnivalRides, games and traditional state fair foods are all available at the Summer Carnival at Mount Trashmore Park! Located in the parking lot off Edwin Drive, the carnival is great for all ages and offers free admission and free parking. Ride prices are below; games and concessions are priced separately. 

Ticket Prices for Midway Rides:

Single Tickets: $1 each (each ride takes 2-6 tickets)
Monday, Wednesday & Friday: $18 wristband (unlimited rides)
Twelve Buck Tuesday: $12 wristband
Dollar Day Thursday: All rides $1 each
Saturday & Sunday: $20 wristband
In celebration of the City's 50th Anniversary, a special $10 wristband will be available on Wednesday, June 26! 

Carnival hours are 6 - 11 pm during the week, and 2 - 11 pm on the weekends. The carnival may close earlier at the discretion of Deggeller Attractions based on weather conditions and attendance. Tag your photos with #TrashmoreCarnival!
Totally 80's Party Coming to Mount Trashmore!

Friday, June 21 | 7 - 10 pm | Mount Trashmore Park  


80sGrab your acid washed jeans, funky leg warmers and muscle shirts for our Totally 80's Party from 7 - 10 pm on Friday, June 21 at Mount Trashmore Park. Join us for this free celebration of the most radical decade yet!

Be there or be square for a live performance by local 80s show band The Deloreans who will cover upbeat retro classics by 80s artists like The Go-Go's, Flock of Seagulls, Duran Duran, The Bangles, Huey Lewis & The News, plus so much more! We'll be hosting an 80s costume contest for best individual costume and best group costume - so tease those bangs up, sport that Miami Vice look, and break out the neon fashion! Also, be sure to check out the display of retro cars straight from the great 80s!

The Totally 80's Party is the second event of Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation's Party in the Park Series. Be sure to tag your photos with #PartyinthePark!

Celebrate Independence Day at Mount Trashmore Park

Thursday, July 4 | 4 - 10 pm | Mount Trashmore Park   


July 4Celebrate with your friends and family at our annual July 4th Celebration at Mount Trashmore Park! Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm. Admission is free; limited onsite parking is $5. Food and drinks available for purchase. 

Main Stage Performances

4 - 6 pm | Local music band User Friendly kicks off the Independence Day celebration with their classic and modern rock covers plus heartfelt original songs. 


7 - 9:30 pm | East coast music sensation Strictly Bizzness is a high energy, versatile group of entertainers that performs a variety of musical styles, including rock, classic rock & roll, Motown, oldies and everyone's favorite Top 40 dance music. 

Children's Activities

4 - 8 pm | Free children's activities and games at Shelter #3. The Virginia Freemasons will be making child ID cards at no cost. 


9:30 pm | Zambelli, the "First Family of Fireworks" will amaze you with their spectacular fireworks show!

Note: When parking lots at Mount Trashmore Park are full, Edwin Drive between Independence Boulevard and South Boulevard may close. Expect delays.

Get Set for Youth Football & Volleyball Registration

Saturday, July 6 and Saturday, July 13 | Sites & Times Vary


Youth FootballOrganized athletics are offered through the City-Wide Athletic Office in conjunction with volunteer Recreation Associations for youth 10 years old through 18 years old and attending K-12 schools.

Youth football and volleyball registration will take place on the first two Saturdays in July: July 6 and 13. Sites and times will be posted two weeks prior to the start of registration on

Practice will begin in August and games begin in September. Recreation Associations will charge a player registration fee and the sports offered vary by area.

Two for Tuesday Offered at All Rec Centers in July!


RunningAs part of our celebration of National Parks & Recreation Month this July, we're offering a Two for Tuesday special for our recreation center members. Each Tuesday in July, members can bring one guest to any recreation center for free! If you already know how much our recreation centers have to offer, this is the perfect time for you or your child to introduce a friend to our amenities and services.


Bring your guest with you to the front desk of the recreation center and they'll be issued a one-day pass. Not yet a member? Learn more!

Please Note Our Upcoming Facility Closures

Bow Creek Recreation Center is closed for a long-term modernization project


All Virginia Beach Recreation Centers, Owl Creek Tennis Center and administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4 for Independence Day. Parks will be open for your enjoyment!


Don't forget that your membership is good at all Virginia Beach Recreation Centers! If your usual center is closed for maintenance, take the opportunity to visit another center. Use this locator to help you find one!
