Adult Spring Softball Registration

Play ball! New for 2013, City-Wide Athletics offers the first annual Grapefruit Softball League! Team registration for this "pre-season" league will be February 4-8. Fee is $250 per team. Men will play on Thursday nights and Coed on Friday nights in late February and early March. This will be a short (8-game) season with no playoffs. It's a great opportunity for you and your team to shake off the rust before the Spring season begins.
 

Spring 2013 Adult Softball League team registration will be held February 18 through March 8. Fee is $500 per team. Men's, Women's, Coed and Men's Legends (50 & Over) leagues will be offered. Practices begin April 1 and the season will run from the end of April through late July. Maximum of 20 players per team. Games are played at various ball fields throughout the city.

 

Registration is taken on a team basis at the City-Wide Athletic Office (4001 Dam Neck Road). Each team pays a franchise fee at registration. Players must be 18 years old or a graduating high school senior. Registration information will be posted on VBgov.com/sports by February 15. You can also get on our mailing list for a team registration form by calling the City-Wide Athletics Office at 358-0458.
 
Register early! Leagues are subject to close-out prior to the last day of signups.

Spring Coed Sand Football
 
Sand FootballLove to play football? Like the beach? Give Adult Coed Sand Football a try this spring! This flag football league has been around for nearly 25 years and administered by City-Wide Athletics since 2005. The sport is challenging, but you'll have a blast playing in the sand!
 
Games consist of two 40-minute halves and are played on the beach at 25th Street on Sunday mornings. Play is 6 on 6 with at least 2 females on the field at a time. Roster limit is 15 players per team.

Team registration is February 1-8 at the City-Wide Athletics Office located at 4001 Dam Neck Road. Entry fee is $675 per team. The season runs from early March to late May.

Girls Youth Softball Registration

Girls SoftballGet your daughter involved in team sports! Neighborhood Recreation Associations will hold girls softball registration on Saturday, February 16 and Saturday, February 23. Registration sites and times will be available online by February 15. Practices begin April 1 and the season runs from early May to mid-July.
 
Please note the following:
  • Recreation Associations charge a registration fee.
  • Online registration is encouraged where available.
  • Proof of age is required.
    • Leagues sponsored by Parks and Recreation are open to ages 10-18 (age as of May 1, 2013).
    • Most areas sponsor leagues for children under 10.
    • Some areas also offer boys baseball.
  • Players must be a Virginia Beach resident and attend school (K-12) to be eligible.
  • High school varsity and junior varsity softball players are not eligible.
