Greetings!

Spring has sprung here in mid-Michigan and we're jumping into action with a brand new look and feel for Generations Online. There are new reports, apps for nearly everyone, and a few ways we protect your data as part of our commitment to you.

New Season, New Look for Generations
There are plenty of new things to look at in Generations. Check the release notes for a full, detailed list of new items and changes. Here are the highlights:

New: Most screens and buttons have been changed to look more modern with rounded corners, smaller lines, and softer colors. The image to the right shows the new edit, delete, new, and audit buttons.

 

New: CMS1500 version 02/12 is now available. You can still use the older version (08/06) for the time being as we know you'll probably have claims that need to be submitted on that form.

New: Two reports - Caregiver Visit Count and Telephony Call Log.

New: Do your Caregivers sometimes forget to call into Generations Telephony when they arrive at a client's home? Now Generations Telephony can automatically send them an email and text reminder.

Better: The layout of the Billing Report By Client parameters was changed to better accommodate the two versions of the CMS1500 and the many options on the screen.

Better: Based on your feedback, we've improved the Configurable Overtime and Overtime Alerts to include options to a) indicate what your agency considers overtime, and b) if the overtime should be payable. Configurable Overtime also now takes holiday pay into consideration appropriately.

Generations At Your Fingertips
If you've ever been on call for your agency, you know the challenges in quickly replacing staff on the fly. That task is a whole lot easier with Generations Apps.

With your smartphone, you can easily search for a caregiver and fill the shift in a timely manner. All the details you need to know are there - caregiver contact phone numbers, needs and skills, and more.

You can further empower your caregivers in the field by allowing them to use the Generations App, too. They can view their schedule and available shifts, plus add Visit Notes. And if you're using Generations Telephony, they can log in and out of shifts with a tap of the finger.

We haven't forgotten clients, either. Even the contacts of the clients (like a son or spouse) can use the Generations App to see what time shifts begin, and which caregivers will be arriving.

Gone are the days of a stack of papers or a mountain of three-ring binders. Celebrate the new way to work by utilizing the Generations Apps - for clients, caregivers, and office staff.

Riding The Trail To Success

Owning a business can be full of unexpected twists, turns, and bumps in the road. With a web-based system like Generations, though, the trail ahead is safe and smooth.

Confidentiality is crucial in the homecare industry and, without a doubt, your agency information is secure and protected in Generations with SSL-encryption. You can add additional layers of HIPAA-level security including hiding social security numbers from non-administrative users, requiring complex passwords, establishing an auto-logout time after office user inactivity, and more. We also adhere to the European Union's strict Safe Harbor privacy policy.

With security firmly in place, Generations becomes indispensable for owners when traveling and for on-call staff. Clients and caregivers can also safely view their schedules over a standard web browser, smart phone, or tablet.
