Cathy Bartusek
Global Service Administrator
Cathy started her career at Chart in 1986 serving as a Customer Service Rep for Medical Products before taking some time off to raise her children. We were excited when she returned to Chart New Prague in 2000 to be part of the MVE Bulk CO2 Customer Service Department as a Global Service Administrator.
Cathy, who was born and raised in Minnesota, is married, has two grown children, and is soon to become a grandmother for the first time! Her son is following in her footsteps as he just started his career with Chart.
In her limited spare time, Cathy enjoys watching movies and spending time with her family. She says she tries to keep in mind a saying her father used often when she was a child: Treat others the way you want to be treated. She added that, since he had nine children, he probably just said that so he could have some peace and quiet ... occasionally.
Cathy likes working with the beverage product line because it services a "fun" market. She also enjoys interacting with the Chart D&S beverage customers and a "good group" of Chart sales people.

Chart High Flow CO2 Tank Performance
|
Chart Carbo-Max™ 750 and 1000, along with the Perma-Cyl ® series of CO 2 tanks, are designed to achieve high flows in the 40 to 125 pounds-per-hour range using internal vaporization coils and high-flow regulators. They are proven to deliver this industry-leading flow performance when tested under these conditions for applications like microbreweries, commercial water treatment plants, controlled greenhouses, and large sports arenas. In fact, recent testing by Chart verified that they could sustain their flow
rates for up to 12 hours without degradation in flow rate or a significant drop in tank pressure.
|
 | Chart VaporMan 125 |
The recent performance testing of Chart's high-flow CO2 tanks led to the development of Chart's newest offering, VaporMan 125, a compact, modular, two-stage manifold vaporizer system designed to rapidly warm the cold vaporizer gas from high-flow tanks to near ambient temperatures for delivery to the end-use point. The VaporMan 125 also will come with an integral manifold, making it easy to correctly connect single or multiple tanks as required.
Watch for more information on this product which will be available for purchase this Fall.

Carbo Tip of the Quarter
Normal Evaporation Rate (N.E.R.)
by Jeff Wick, Technical Service Representative
|
Every tank consists of an inner vessel and an outer vessel, much like a giant thermos bottle. The space between the two vessels contains insulation in a vacuum to minimize the entry of unwanted heat into the liquid carbon dioxide stored in the inner vessel. However, due to the support structure for the inner vessel and the piping of the unit some heat enters the liquid. So, every tank has a natural heat leak which causes the pressure to rise in the tank when it is not in use. This is called the Normal Evaporation Rate (N.E.R.) of the tank. If the tank has an optimal vacuum, there are no leaks in the plumbing, and all the valves are closed, the average pressure rise in the tank may be between 12 to 15 psi per day and still be within the unit's specifications. If you have any questions, call Chart's Customer Service Department at 800.247.4446.
