From the Director:

No Foolin' it's April!

If a community could lay claim to a month, in Nebraska, I think April should be Nebraska City's Month.

Nebraska City and the public art project  An Enchanted Arboretum will be featured on the newest iinstallment of "Nebraska Stories" on NET, Sunday, April 6th, at 9 p.m. on NET1. A repeat of the program will run Friday, April 11th, at 7 p.m.

A printable map of permanent professional tree locations is available enchantedarboretum.org.  If you are interested in a coffee table book featuring all 71 sculptures as well as photographs taken throughout the project, it can be purchased through our office. The April 2014 issue of Smithsonian Magazine names Nebraska City the ninth best small town to visit in America, citing its rich history, historic museums, famous orchards and vineyards, as well as it being the birthplace of Arbor Day.  Nebraska City is walking proud and excited about this new designation. Arbor Lodge Update:

The legislative action that Nebraska City has been watching most closely is the State budget as it pertains to Arbor Lodge.  Many things are happening but it is still in the process of development.  We will give you a full update in our future newsletter.

Sincerely,
