No Foolin' it's April!
If a community could lay claim to a month, in Nebraska, I think April should be Nebraska City's Month.
Nebraska City and the public art project An Enchanted Arboretum will be featured on the newest iinstallment of "Nebraska Stories" on NET, Sunday, April 6 th, at 9 p.m. on NET1. A repeat of the program will run Friday, April 11th, at 7 p.m.
A printable map of permanent professional tree locations is available enchantedarboretum.org. If you are interested in a coffee table book featuring all 71 sculptures as well as photographs taken throughout the project, it can be purchased through our office. Call to get one now at 402-873-4293.

Closure of Highway 75 Doesn't Stop Easy Access to Nebraska City.
Even with the closure of Hwy 75 on March 31st until approximately Sept. 13th, getting to Nebraska City is still no problem from Omaha and Lincoln. Nebraska City Named Ninth "Best Small Town to Visit" by the Smithsonian Magazine You can't walk down the streets of Nebraska City without hearing chatter of being ranked Ninth for the "Best Small Town to Visit" in America. The April 2014 issue of Smithsonian Magazine names Nebraska City the ninth best small town to visit in America, citing its rich history, historic museums, famous orchards and vineyards, as well as it being the birthplace of Arbor Day. Many Arbor Day Events Planned
This year, new events have been added for the month whether it is the start of the Apple Blossom Festival with the Apple Blossom Ball on April 12th, Bloody Mary contest, or list of events including the Arbor Day parade, it promises to be an active month. Arbor Lodge Update: The legislative action that Nebraska City has been watching most closely is the State budget as it pertains to Arbor Lodge. Many things are happening but it is still in the process of development. We will give you a full update in our future newsletter.
