From the Director:
On Tuesday, February 4th, a strong contingent of Arbor Lodge supporters made the trip to the Nebraska State Capital to testify on LB-1033. The trip made in the middle of a snow storm was a testament to the commitment of the supporters. LB-1033 is a request for funding from the Legislature to support efforts to fix items that have been neglected due to deferred maintenance, to comply with the ADA, and generally maintain the integrity of Arbor Lodge. The following outlines the community's plan to preserve and move Arbor Lodge into the future.
Overview Document
Senator Dan Watermeier and Senator Bill Kintner co-sponsored LB-1033. We are asking you to write a letter of support LB-1033 to other Senators to show that you support these efforts. Click here for a full listing of Senators and their addresses.

Small Business Training at Kimmel
Market Tech February 19th
Kimmel Education Research Center. 8- 12:30
Just one of the topics at the MarkeTech conference includes:
What FLEW and What FLOPPED and WHY
As a small business owner, we all know there are trials and tribulations. To help pave the way, your first stop in a series of small business trainings should be in Nebraska City on Wednesday, February 19TH at the Kimmel Education Center from 8:00am - 12:15pm.
Even after designing the best service or product in any industry, many businesses struggle while others flourish. Why is that? This interactive panel discussion will discuss why some great ideas fly and why others are like catfish in the Missouri River -- a flop. The panel of entrepreneurs represented are from Heritage Falls Candles and Gifts, JB's Fat Boy and Nebraska Digital.
GROW Nebraska has teamed up with the Rural Enterprise Assistance Project (REAP) Women's Business Center, and Nebraska City Area Economic Development Corp. to bring MarkeTECH trainings to small business owners.
Additional support is offered by partner organizations including Constant Contact, Nebraska Dept. of Economic Development, Nebraska Enterprise Fund, Nebraska Lottery, Nebraska Public Power District, Omaha Public Power District, PayPal, Performance Planners and the Small Business Administration.
Business owners, community leaders, and marketing staff will be able to accelerate their skills with a minimal investment of time and money. Space is limited.
