Welcome to our newest Assistant Head of School

The Administration is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Gregg Chambers as the Assistant Head of School for Mission Advancement.  Gregg comes to us with 20 years of experience in development, primarily with private secondary schools (including Catholic Memorial in West Roxbury) and other non-profit organizations in greater Boston.  A more complete bio will be featured in May's issue of Focus on Fontbonne.  Gregg's office is in the Fontbonne Convent with the advancement team, and he welcomes any visitors, so please feel free to stop by and introduce yourself if you are so inclined.  You'll be sure to see him at many upcoming events this spring!

From the Library

How many books are in the FBA Library?
Think you know? Do you have a good guess? Come in this week to check out some of the new books we've gotten this year and submit your guess. There will be a prize for the closest guess.

If you need a homework break after school this week, come down and make some origami. We'll have paper and instructions, so either make something fun for yourself or help decorate the library for spring! For more on either of these activities, visit http://fbalibraryupdate.blogspot.com/

Good News

On April 3, all of our English I and English I Honors students attended a professional performance of Romeo and Juliet at Milton High School.  Our students, who are all studying Romeo and Juliet, thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

The freshwomen celebrated the end of their level month with a pizza lunch in the foyer. The ninth grade class sported their "2016" tee shirts, enjoyed pizza and sundaes on Friday during 3rd lunch.   The Scavenger Hunt competition was fierce with homeroom 201 coming out on top. Congratulations to Rm. 201 and their homeroom teacher, Ms. Azcue. Thank you to the freshwomen Student Council representatives who planned the level activities.

On Thursday afternoon in the convent chapel, nineteen sophomores and juniors were inducted into the French and Spanish Honor Societies. These students completed the application process and met the academic criteria for admission. Congratulations to the students and to their World Language teachers. A reception for the inductees and their parents was held in the foyer after the ceremony. Thank you to moderators, Mrs. Herbert and Mrs. Linardi for organizing the ceremony and the reception.

The Masquerade Ball, postponed from February due to inclement weather, was held on Saturday evening at Great Pond in Braintree. The room looked amazing, the dance floor was packed, the music loud and the food delicious---all the ingredients needed for a perfect night. Thank you to the members of Student Council and their moderator, Ms. Leonard, for providing our students and their friends with a fun experience. Thank you to all the Fontbonne adults who chaperoned and special thanks to Fontbonne alumna, Marta Fasano Googins, for allowing Fontbonne to use the facility and her catering services. It was a great night!!!
