Mr. Water's classes have been on the move the last two weeks. On Sunday, October 21, members of his Social Justice classes attended a performance of Christopher Shinn's political drama, Now or Later, at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA. The play addresses issues of free speech, religious tolerance, and the importance of personal responsibility. Students will follow up with discussions in class and reflect on how questions posed in the play are pertinent to the coming presidential election in November.
Students in Mr. Water's Introduction to New Testament class attended Handel and Hayden Society's performance of Bach's Magnificat at Symphony Hall on Sunday, October 14. The point of the field trip was to help students understand the relationship between religion and music, specifically how the Gospel is interpreted through an historical lens. Thank you to Mr. Waters for planning such enriching experiences for his classes.
Amy Joy, a DNA Forensic Scientist, specializing in crime scenes, addressed Ms. Schein's Law and Criminology class on Monday, October 22. The students were able to ask Ms. Joy questions after her informational presentation on Forensic Science. Thank you to Ms. Schein for arranging this guest speaker.
