It's Nomination Time Again!
- We are now taking nominations for the 2014 Special Awards, which will be presented at the MCSCC Awards Banquet in January.
- It is also time to make nominations for your 2015 MCSCC Officers.
- All submissions due to Melissa Hitzk ([email protected]) by Nov 10th.
Please see below for information on how to nominate for both.
For those who have been following along... I have both vehicles operational again! Yea! As it turns out, I might've actually been able to finish my season if only I had known that my neighbor needed me to nag him. Really?! Nagging the person rebuilding my engine did not seem like a good idea... or I would've done it sooner! However, the beauty of having my neighbor do it was then I could be hands on throughout the whole process. He tore down the engine with me, showed me what to look for, what gets replaced, how to properly put it back together, and now I feel much more confident going into my own rebuild for the track car.
So now I have my daily driver back after a final push: working every night after work for a week, in the bitter October cold, until 10:30/11 at night... plus all day Saturday in the rain. Pure joy. But, it's done and now I can move on to the next pressing decision in my life. With a suspected bad bearing in my transmission, do I: A) do all the work to pull the transmission out to only replace the bearing, B) rebuild my spare motor & transmission over the winter & swap them in spring, or C) rebuild the motor & transmission and run the car until the bearing goes because I'm fairly certain a swap will mean a late start to my season... which also risks an early end to my season? Logic might dictate B, but my logic and reality rarely cross paths. Oh, well. We'll see if I can get myself in gear this time.
Until we race again,
Michele Salamun Klaxon Editor
