President Open Forums and Office Hours
Fullerton College Interim President Greg Schulz has announced he will host a President's Office Hour this semester, which will be a series of open-door office hours designed to encourage students, faculty, staff and the community to engage in exclusive one-on-one time with him. The first President's Office Hour will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 12:30 p.m. Schulz has also scheduled a series of open forums. Board of Trustee Appointment
The NOCCCD Board of Trustees unanimously voted Aug. 25 to provisionally appoint Daniel Billings to Trustees Area 3. He will be officially seated as a trustee at the Oct. 13 NOCCCD board meeting, after a 30 day waiting period. Read more...

Coffee with the Trustees and Chancellor
Faculty and staff are invited to join the North Orange County Community College District for a series of Coffees with the Trustees and Chancellor. These casual meetings are designed to provide district faculty and staff from Fullerton College, Cypress College and the School of Continuing Education with an opportunity to meet the trustees and chancellor, share ideas, ask questions, and provide updates on important goals or initiatives planned during the fall semester. The next meeting will take place on Sept. 17 at 9 a.m. in Building 200, Room 224 at Fullerton College. For more information, view the News Center story.

Challenges to Southern California's Water Supply Seminar
Dr. Adrian Hightower will provide an overview of the challenges facing Southern California's water suppliers and discuss solutions for making better use of water. This seminar will be on Sept. 8 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Building 400, Room 410. Students who attend the seminar may also attend the Meet-the-Speaker Pizza Mixer from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Building 200, Rooms 224-226. Contact Sean Chamberlin for more details. Funding for Study Abroad
Scholarship funding is available to Pell Grant recipients for the Study Abroad Program to London in spring 2016. Attend an information session on Sept. 2 from 3 to 4 p.m. in Building 1400, Room 1429 to learn more about applying for the Gilman Scholarship. The Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for study abroad students. The deadline to apply is Oct. 6. More info can be found on the Institute of International Education website.

Transfer Center Workshops
The UC TAG workshop covers the basic requirements for the Transfer Admissions Guarantee and the UC Transfer Admissions Planner. This workshop is offered during the UC TAG filing period of September. The workshop will be on Sept. 1 from 2 to 3:30 p.m and will run again on Sept. 4 from noon to 1:30 p.m. The Are Your Ready to Apply? workshop provides students with an overview of the year-long fall application cycle for CSU and UC. This workshop will be on Sept. 3 from noon to 1:30 p.m. All workshops are in the Transfer Center in Building 200, Room 212. RSVPs must be done for all events by contacting the Transfer Center at 714-992-7086 or visiting Room 212.

Selections from the Fullerton College Art Collection Sept. 3-Oct. 7
Showcasing a body of work both broad in scope and stunning in its beauty, the Fullerton College Art Collection exemplifies what a college art collection should be: educational, inspirational, and the ability to move us all. The opening reception for this event is on Sept. 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. Gallery hours for the collection are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. Special evening hours will be on Sept. 9, 15 and 21 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Athletics at Fullerton College

Football
The Hornets will kick off the 2015 season on the road against Ventura College Sept. 5. Game time will be at 6 p.m.
 
Women's Soccer
The Lady Hornets will host LA Harbor College on Sept. 1. Game time is at 3 p.m.
 
Men's Soccer
FC will host Rio Hondo College on Sept. 1. Game time is at 5 p.m.
 
Women's Volleyball
FC will travel to Hope International for a scrimmage Sept. 3. Game time is at 7 p.m.
 
Women's Golf
Fullerton will begin their season at Soboba Springs Golf Course against Mt. San Jacinto on Sept. 2 at 10 a.m.
