News Center Now Online
Fullerton College launched a news website for the campus today (May 11). Fullerton College News Center is the official place for news about the college. It is designed to elevate and advance the college by sharing the accomplishments of students, faculty, staff and institution as a whole. It will also serve as a central place to share information during campus emergencies and other key news from the college. The site features a variety of stories and achievements that bring to life the college's dynamic and diverse community. Fullerton College News Center is produced by the Office of Campus Communications.
President Open Forum
In an effort to encourage communication and strengthen teamwork across campus, President Rajen Vurdien has scheduled a series of open forums. The president encourages all students, faculty and staff to attend this monthly forum. The next open forum is today from 2-3 p.m. in Building 200, Room 224.
Mark Robinson Lectures on New Book
Former professional athlete and author, Mark Robinson, will be giving a special presentation on May 14 from 3:30 - 5 p.m. in the North Gym, Building 1200. See the online flyer for details.
Reminder: Athletic Hall of Fame

Achieving Success at FC
On April 30, outreach staff visited Loara High School in Anaheim and presented an informational session to the Males Achieving Success (MAS) program. Over 75 Latino males attended the informational session where they learned about the programs and services offered at FC including the matriculation process, special admit process, new Summer Bridge program, and the upcoming STEM Youth Conference and camp.
KinderCaminata Welcomes More Than 2,000 Kindergartners
Fullerton College hosted more than 2,000 kindergartners on April 17 for the 20th annual KinderCaminata. The annual event was designed to expose children to their first college experience and provide them with an opportunity to participate in hands-on learning, fun demonstrations, and hear from inspirational leaders. Revised: Chancellor Finalist Open Forums
Open forums will be held at Cypress College and Fullerton College on May 12. Questions from the audience are encouraged and comment cards will be available at the forums to provide feedback for the Board of Trustees' consideration. The afternoon forum times have been revised: Fullerton College, room 224-8 Monte Perez will be at 3 p.m. and Andrew Jones will be at 4 p.m. Cypress College, room 304 Monte Perez will be at 10:30 a.m. and Andrew Jones will be at 11:30 a.m. Brief bios on the finalists and survey instructions will also be distributed at the forums. If you are unable to attend, the forums will also be recorded for viewing on myGateway. The online survey can be accessed at this site.
Family Night Provides High School Seniors with Information to Be Successful
Nearly 500 parents and students from six high school districts in the surrounding community visited Fullerton College on Wednesday, April 29 for Family High School Senior Night. The event served as an opportunity for parents and high school seniors to learn about the various programs and services FC has to offer and hear from counselors and staff members regarding the process of admissions, financial aid, and the overall matriculation process. First Annual Jump Start Conference for At-Risk Students
Fullerton College EOPS/CARE & FYSI programs will host its first JumpStart Conference on May 16 from 8:30 a.m.-noon. This event is intended to attract prospective EOPS/CARE and FYSI students who may identify as current or former foster youth, single parents, low-income and/or homeless youth. The Jump Start Conference will include a tour of the campus, basic FAFSA assistance, available academic options, housing assistance, and information on student service programs.
