One Book, One College-The Votes Are In!
The Fullerton College community has voted The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot as next year's One Book. This book is appropriate for all levels of Humanities, Social Science, and Science students. The OBOC Committee will plan events surrounding the book. Any ideas for an event volunteers are welcome. Natural Sciences Open House and Undergraduate Research Symposium
This event features keynote speaker, Dr. Carolyn Heath, as she presents Sails of the South Pacific: An Oceanographer's Dream. The symposium will be May 1 from 3-6 p.m. in room 410. For more information about the speaker, read the flyer online or view the event flyer.

Teacher of the Year Campus Reception
Join the campus community and celebrate the 2015 Teacher of the Year, top five finalists and the top 10 nominees, during the campus-wide Teacher of the Year Reception on April 29, from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on the quad. Debate Team Results
Fullerton Debaters Michael Wu and Zach Turner finished second in team debate and earned top speaker awards at the California State University Northridge "Robert Barbera" Debate Tournament on Sunday. Turner earned the top speaker award and Wu was fifth speaker. They earned a $250 second-place award. Fullerton College will finish the 2015-2016 season with the PSCFA Novice Tournament April 25 and 26 and the CSUF Blumer Tournament on May 2.

Fine Arts Division Banquet Honoring Bob Jensen
The Fine Arts division would like to extend an invitation to faculty and staff to a banquet honoring Bob Jensen for his 35 years with Fullerton College. The event cost is $40 and included with the price of admission are appetizers, dessert, entertainment and a gift contribution. The banquet takes place on May 18 from 7-9 p.m. at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center. To buy tickets visit the Eventbrite page.
Jacqueline Rodarte is New Trustee for Area 5
Jacqueline Rodarte was officially seated and sworn in as a trustee for Area 5 during the last Board of Trustees meeting. The board unanimously voted to provisionally appoint Rodarte at the March 10 meeting, followed by a 30-day waiting period. Rodarte assumes the seat of Michael Matsuda, who resigned on January 1. Her term expires in November 2016.

Symphony April 20
The Fullerton College Symphony will present an evening of music from classical and pop genres. Tickets for adults are $10, kids are $5, and students and seniors are $7. This event will be on April 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Campus Theatre.
Synergy Vocal Jazz and Lab Band April 21
The Fullerton College Synergy Vocal Jazz and Jazz Lab Band Ensembles present a wonderful evening of jazz on April 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Campus Theatre. Tickets for adults are $10, kids are $5, and students and seniors are $7.
Student Art Exhibition April 30-May 14
This annual exhibition presents the best student artwork created during the past year. Prizes will be awarded to the students who demonstrate the highest artistic merit. Many works will be available for purchase.
Fullerton College Faculty Dance Concert May 1-2
This dance concert showcases the talents of faculty, guest and student choreographers. The performance will include various dance genres, such as modern, contemporary, musical theater, middle eastern and jazz. Both shows will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Campus Theatre. General tickets will be $15, students, faculty, staff, seniors, and children will be $10.

Baseball
The Hornets took a step backward in their race with the Orange Empire Conference on Friday falling to Riverside City College 5-2 at home. The Tigers took the season series two games to one and now Fullerton is fighting for a playoff spot. With two games left in the regular season (both against Cypress), the Hornets need to pull it together against their conference and district rival. Up Next: Fullerton (20-14, 9-10) will host first place Cypress College (24-10, 13-6) April 21 at 2 p.m.
Softball
The Fullerton College softball team ripped off two wins in a row last Friday and Saturday. On Friday, FC took the season series over Orange Coast with a 3-1 home win. On Saturday, the Hornets took a trip to Antelope Valley College where the handled the Marauders 6-5. Up Next: FC (22-15, 10-9) will host Santa Ana College today at 3 p.m.
Swim and Dive
At the Orange Empire Conference championships, both the men's and women's teams wrapped up their regular seasons with strong efforts at the Golden West College pool. The women's team placed 6th overall and the men's team took 5th.
Women's Track and Field
