Office 365 Now Available to Students, Staff and Faculty

Fullerton College is now providing access to Office 365, a feature-rich set of tools for collaboration using products like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive and SharePoint. Users can install Microsoft Office on up to five different devices. More information can be found here.

Women's water polo team

Women's Water Polo Team Recognized at Board of Trustees Meeting

Fullerton College's state champion Women's Water Polo Team received much deserved recognition at the NOCCCD Board of Trustees meeting on Feb. 10. Led by Coach Gabriel Martinez, the team excelled throughout their season undefeated all the way to the championship match where they defeated Riverside City College 8-7 in nail-biting overtime. This is the first time the water polo team has won the championship since the program began in 1996.

Cosmetology Department Reaches Out to Community 

Residents of the Park Regency Care Center in La Habra received an extra special Valentine's Day treat when students from the Cosmetology Level 3 class primped and pampered women at the care facility on Feb. 10. The visit, coordinated by instructor Rosa Molina, provided students with the opportunity to practice skills and provide a heartwarming service project to members of the community.

VRC Workshops

The Veteran Resource Center is hosting an employment services workshop on Feb. 18 at noon in room 518 to help students update their resumes and improve their interviewing skills. Everyone is welcome to attend. A vocational rehabilitation and employment counseling workshop will be on Feb. 20 from 9 a.m. - noon in room 518.

 

Scholarship Opportunity for Students

Johnson Attorneys Group plans to award three scholarships to students who create the most popular public service announcement video on the subject of drunk driving prevention. Full information on this scholarship can be found on the sponsor's website.

International Student Center Field Trip to the San Diego Zoo

The Fullerton College Art Gallery will host The Natural World through Feb. 19. The gallery is open Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. - noon and 2-4 p.m.

20th Annual Piano Ensemble Festival Feb. 21
Piano Festival image
A performance of piano duets and duos featuring early-intermediate to collegiate and teacher categories.The festival's closed audition will begin around 8 a.m. The circle of winners will be chosen and perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Campus Theatre. The grand prize winners will be announced after the performance. Tickets for adults are $10 and students, seniors and children are $8.

Women's Basketball

Fullerton knocked off a tough Saddleback squad on the road last Tuesday 66-61. Up Next: The Hornets (16-9, 5-5) will travel to Cypress College on Feb. 18. Tip off is at 7 p.m. 

 

Men's Basketball

FC lost on the road to first place Saddleback College last Tuesday 88-57. Up Next: The Hornets (3-22, 1-9) take a trip to Cypress College on Feb. 18. Tip off is at 5 p.m. 

 

Baseball

Beginning the season with a red-hot undefeated start (6-0), the Hornets ran into a strong Palomar College squad (Ranked 2nd in SoCal). On Thursday, FC hosted the Comets and lost 8-1. Then the Hornets traveled down to Palomar on Saturday where they fell in a close one 4-2. Up Next: Fullerton (6-2 overall) will travel to Mt. San Jacinto College today for a 2 p.m. match-up.

 

Softball

The Lady Hornets swept through their competitors over the weekend at the Mt. San Jacinto College Tournament beating Allan Hancock 8-0, Grossmont 10-4, and San Diego City 10-2.  Up Next: Fullerton (6-2, 1-0) will take on Santiago Canyon College on February 18 in Orange, CA. Game time is at 3 p.m.

 

Women's Tennis

After losing to Glendale College 9-0 a week ago, the FC women's tennis team blanked their next two opponents Bakersfield and Imperial Valley 9-0. Up Next: Fullerton (4-3) will hit the road against Antelope Valley this Feb. 20 at 2 p.m.

 

Men's Tennis

The FC men's tennis team beat Imperial Valley College 7-2 last Friday at home. Up Next: The Hornets (3-2) will host El Camino College today at 2 p.m.
