of our students through high school partnerships, and through our commitment to increase student success and program completions. With the inclusion of the 2014 Fact Book and 2014 Environmental
Scan, this document is a central resource for college-wide planning that will be used to guide Fullerton College over the next year.

GOOD NEWS CORNER
|
Congratulations to Captain George Crum of the Fullerton Police Department and instructor at the Fullerton College Police Academy for accepting the position of Chief of Police in Cathedral City, CA. Crum worked for Fullerton Police Department for 27 years and helped countless students succeed in the field of law enforcement during his several years of work at Fullerton College. While the college will be sad to see him leave, he will continue to impact lives wherever he goes.

NOCCCD has proposed an update to its mission, vision and values. The document, which will be evaluated and revised every three years, received input and updates from campus forums. If you have any comments or feedback on the changes, please email them to Vice Chancellor Cherry Li-Bugg.

CAREER CLOSET DONATIONS REQUESTED
|
Do you have any professional clothing that you no longer wear or need? Consider donating those clothes to the Business Management Department. The department is launching a new service for students in the spring semester called the Career Closet. The Career Closet will be available to loan professional clothing, from a piece to an entire outfit, to any student taking classes in the Business Division who needs to dress professionally for a presentation or interview. Bring donated items to the department.

The annual NOCCCD Budget Allocation Model Forum will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 3 from 3-5 p.m. in Rooms 224-228. The forum will be presented by Fred Williams, vice chancellor of finance and facilities and Rod Garcia, district director of fiscal affairs.

SPEECH AND DEBATE FINISHES FALL SEASON
|
Fullerton's Speech and Debate team finished the fall season with multiple awards at the Pacific Southwest Collegiate Forensics Association Fall Championships hosted by Mt. SAC college. Nine hundred competitors participated from around the country. In debate, Rachel Romo tied in points with the winning speaker in debate from Florida International University, finishing second overall. Skyler Wiedeman (seventh speaker) and Bo Kim (ninth speaker) also won debate speaker awards. Taylor Engle (Junior Persuasion) wound up in fourth place, and Teresa Giltner (Novice Persuasion) also was fourth. Doug Kresse and Collette Blumer coached the team in preparation for this tournament and throughout the fall semester. The speech team competes again in 2015, with tournaments beginning in January and ending in May.

FULLERTON COLLEGE ATHLETICS ROUND-UP
|
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Hornets opened up with a 71-41 win at the Chaffey College Tournament against Barstow on Friday. On Saturday, FC suffered their first loss of the season against Orange Empire Conference rival Irvine Valley College 67-48. In the tournament's third place game on Sunday, Fullerton won big over host Chaffey College 74-39. Up next: The Hornets (7-1) will play at the Los Angeles Valley Tournament on Dec. 13-14.
MEN'S BASKETBALL: After taking last week off, Fullerton (1-7) will play in the Riverside Tournament on Dec. 10-13.
