Alumni Mentor: Craig Reeves, CSULA

My major is Biology with a purposed minor in Kinesiology. I transferred to CSULA, although I still do take the occasional class at Fullerton College. The school was within driving distance of less than an hour which was important to me so that I could remain working and close to my family, and hopefully save some money in the process. I was Honors Certified at Fullerton College.  I did not receive any scholarships. I was involved in PTK, the Christian club and did a lot of volunteer work with the Red Cross on disaster prevention. It would have been very useful if someone would have told me to ENSURE with a college advisor that the credits transfer, and to transfer them even before you transfer if possible. I didn't earn an AA BUT I do plan to go back to finish the credits I needed to get it. The worst part of transferring was trying to get classes as you are put towards the back of registration your first quarter or two.

UCR Summer Research Experience

There is an upcoming summer research experience at University of California Riverside. It will be an excellent opportunity for undergraduates interested in Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and/or Materials Science/Engineering.

This program will be targeting students from local colleges with the objective of inspiring students from e.g. first-in-the-family-to-attend-college backgrounds towards studies in the sciences and engineering.

If you have any questions or wanted to learn more, please contact Ludwig Bartels (bartels@ucr.edu).
