All staff and faculty and invited to attend one of the upcoming Coffees with the Board of Trustees and Chancellor. The coffees are informal gatherings for staff, faculty and students to ask questions, and have a dialogue with Board members and the Chancellor. Each campus hosts one Coffee per semester, and employees are welcome to attend any or all of the three Coffees at their convenience.

FACULTY AND STAFF PARTICIPATING IN COMMENCEMENT MUST RSVP BY FEBRUARY 28

Each year, Fullerton College faculty are encouraged to participate in Commencement. This year's ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 23 at 6 pm. Those faculty participating must RSVP to Student Affairs no later than Friday, February 28 to be included in the program. Participants are asked to wear formal regalia. Student Affairs will take regalia rental orders through Friday, February 28, from 8 am - 5 pm in the Student Affairs Office. For an order form, email stuaff@fullcoll.edu.

DISTRICT HOSTING STRATEGIC CONVERSATION IN LATE MARCH |
The North Orange County Community College District is hosting Strategic Conversation #15, The Changing Role of Faculty, Staff, Administrators, and Students. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25 in the Cypress College Theatre Lobby and will begin with refreshments at 3:30 pm and the actual conversation at 4:30 pm.

The Cadena Cultural Center is planning this year's Worldfest, taking place on Thursday, May 1 from 10 am - 2 pm on the Quad. The group is still seeking volunteers to help create a series of villages focusing on Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, Middle East, Oceania, Mind, Body, & Spirit, and Global Issues. HEALTH INSURANCE MANDATORY FOR EVERYONE BY APRIL 1, 2014

Covered California, in partnership with the California Department of Health Care Services, has created a new health insurance marketplace in which individuals and families can get access to affordable, quality health insurance plans.
Covered California helps individuals (based on income level) determine whether they are eligible for financial assistance to purchase health insurance plans or whether they are eligible for Medi-Cal. Please direct those with questions to the consumer-friendly Covered California website: www.CoveredCA.com
To assist Fullerton College Students and staff to meet the April 1, 2014 health insurance deadline, the Student Health Center has created Covered California 101, an informational board located in the lobby of the health center. Students and staff are encouraged to visit the health center and view Covered California 101 to get a basic understanding of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the types of financial assistance available through Covered California. The board is updated on a weekly basis, providing users with a list of off-campus, local enrollment events/sites where individuals and families can meet with Certified Enrollment Counselors for individualized assistance enrolling in a suitable health plan.

GLADE WELCOMES NEW AND CONTINUING EMPLOYEES; SEEKS STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS

The NOCCCD Gay and Lesbian Association of District Employees (GLADE) welcomes new and continuing NOCCCD district employees. GLADE is officially recognized by the NOCCCD as the advocate for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender faculty and staff. GLADE members are kept abreast of issues relevant to the LGBT community through a listserv. Members serve on the Diversity Committees at both Cypress College and Fullerton College as advocates for LGBT issues. GLADE also supports LGBT student clubs at Cypress College and Fullerton College, by assisting in their activities and providing a competitive GLADE scholarship and book award. The group holds meetings bi-annually and alternate these meetings at Cypress and Fullerton, as well as, social events through the year. Non-LGBT members are welcome to join. GLADE is now accepting applications for its student scholarship, designed to encourage and support NOCCCD students whose activities have contributed to the advancement of LGBT causes while fostering a positive image of the LGBT community. FULLERTON COLLEGE COLLECTING BOOKS FOR LOCAL K-12 STUDENTS

The Humanities Division, in conjunction with the Centennial Committee, holding a Book Drive to celebrate 100 years of higher education in Fullerton! The books will be donated to local schools and community centers.
Organizers are looking for new and gently-used fiction and non-fiction books aimed at students in K-12. Donations bins will be located at the Fullerton Public Library, the Fullerton Art Walk, and throughout campus.

BASEBALL: Last week the Hornets went on a three-game tear beating Victor Valley 13-2 at home Thursday, Allan Hancock College 14-11 on Friday, LA Mission College 7-3 on Saturday. Up Next: The Hornets (10-3) will host Long Beach City College on Tuesday, February 25. Game time is 2:00 pm.
SOFTBALL: Fullerton dropped two consecutive conference games last week to Santiago Canyon College 10-0 on Wednesday and Riverside City College 4-1 on Friday. Up Next: FC (8-4, 0-2) will try and grab their first conference win on Wednesday, February 26. Game time is 3 pm.
WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD: The Lady Hornet's posted 24 season-best performances in their first home meet of the season on Friday against Orange Coast and Santiago Canyon College. FC fell to Santiago Canyon 75-64 and to Orange Coast 125-23. Up Next: The Hornets will host the Orange Empire Conference Heptathlon/Decathlon, March 13-14.
WOMEN'S TENNIS: The Lady Hornets knocked off Saddleback College, 6-3, on Thursday. Up Next: Fullerton (7-1, 1-0) will host Irvine Valley College on Tuesday February 25. Matches begin at 2 pm.
MEN'S TENNIS: FC lost at home to Saddleback College 6-3 last Thursday. Up Next: FC (2-3, 0-1) will play at Irvine Valley College on Tuesday, February 25 at 2:00 pm.
MEN'S BASKETBALL: Fullerton lost on the road last Friday night at Saddleback College 78-63. The Hornets ended their season with an overall record of 6-21 and an Orange Empire Conference record of 2-10.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Lady Hornets ended their season Friday night at Saddleback College losing to the Gauchos 54-35. FC wrapped up with an overall record of 7-20 and an Orange Empire Conference record of 3-9.
