Information Services will be performing scheduled maintenance on the following dates: 

  • Friday, December 20 - Monday, December 23: myGateway will undergo an update and be unavailable
  • Sunday. December 29 - Monday, December 30: General server maintenance which will affect all systems, including myGateway, Banner, and Blackboard
  • Saturday, January 4 - Sunday, January 5: Oracle will be upgraded; myGateway and Banner will be unavailable

Faculty, please plan your grade submission accordingly. For more information or questions, please contact the District IS Help Desk.

FULLERTON COLLEGE VETERANS SEND NEARLY 100 CARE PACKAGES OVERSEES
On Friday, December 6, the Fullerton College Veterans Resource Center sent 94 care packages to various service men and women stationed throughout the world. Thanks to the generous donations from faculty and staff, the veterans were able to send 30% more packages than last year.

A special thanks to Steve and Lisa Butler for donating the shipping costs associated with sending the packages.
LIBRARY ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF CENTENNIAL ART CONTEST
The Fullerton College Library will be awarding prizes to winners and participants in the Fullerton College Centennial: Library Art Contest on Tuesday, December 10 from 12:30 pm - 2 pm in the Library lobby. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend. The winners are as follows:

 

Category 1: Jackie Byrnes - Dotwork Rose

Category 2 (tie): Shannon Kim - Digitalized and Jessica Lowerre - Puck

Category 3: Theresa Elliott-Lofton - With a Little Help ... (We Can Open the Skies)

 

The event and prizes were made possible through generous contributions from the Friends of the Fullerton College Library & Fullerton College Foundation President's Circle grant.

HOMETOWN HOLIDAY ALL-CAMPUS PARTY ON DECEMBER 10

This year's all-campus holiday party is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10 from 2 pm - 4 pm in rooms 224-228. A similar party will be held for evening staff from 10 pm - 11 pm in room 226. The theme for both is Hometown Holiday - Celebrate the Centennial Holiday Season.

FULLERTON COLLEGE GOOD NEWS CORNER
The Technology & Engineering Division is hosting a Manufacturing
Job Fair in support of the Machine, Printing and Welding Technology programs this Tuesday, December 10 in the 900 Building lobby. Cosponsoring this job fair is the SCE Center for Applied Competitive Technologies (CACT).

The Fullerton College Political Science Student Association (Jodi Balma, Advisor) and the Cabana Boys (a musical performance group under the direction of Dr. Gregory Woll) raised $5,172 for Kipepeo, a Kenyan humanitarian aid organization focused on economic development.
FULLERTON COLLEGE ATHLETICS ROUND-UP
FOOTBALL: This Saturday, December 14, the Southern California Champion Fullerton College Hornets (12-0) will travel north to Oroville to face off against the Northern California champ Butte College (11-0).  With Fullerton's football program beginning in 1916 and Butte's first season in 1968, both programs have rich histories loaded with tradition. The two champions will meet for the first time ever at John Cowan Stadium at 12 noon. The winner of the CCCAA State Championship game will have at least a share of the national title. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL:
The Hornets took one out of three games at the Chaffey College Tournament over the weekend.  In game one, FC fell to their host Chaffey, 81-67.  In game two, Fullerton turned things around, winning their third game of the season over Southwestern, 58-55.  In game three for a shot at a third place finish, the Hornets lost big to Mt. San Jacinto College, 66-48.  Up Next: Fullerton (3-7 overall) will play in the L.A. Valley Tournament, December 13-15.

MEN'S BASKETBALL:
Fullerton College will begin play in the biggest tournament of the year (16 teams) when they travel to Riverside City College for the Holiday Tournament this week.  FC will open up against L.A. Trade Tech tomorrow, December 10.
