PRESIDENT'S FORUM
In an effort to encourage communication and strengthen teamwork across campus, President Rajen Vurdien has scheduled a series of Open Forums. The next forum is scheduled for Monday, September 16 at 2 pm in room 224. All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion.  The full schedule of forums is available at http://www.fullcoll.edu/president/presidents-open-forum.

TOWN HALL REGARDING PROPOSED VICE CHANCELLOR OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGY
Dr. Ned Doffoney, Chancellor, is holding a town hall meeting at Fullerton College, room 224, on Tuesday, September 17 from 2 pm to 3 pm to receive feedback from faculty, staff, students, and management on the proposed job description for the position of Vice Chancellor of Educational Services and Technology.  All are invited to attend and participate.
FALL 2013 GRADUATION DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 13
Please remind students that the last day to apply for Fall 2013 Graduation is this Friday, September 13. More information may be found here.
IMPORTANT FALL 2013 ADD AND DROP DEADLINES 
Please announce the following deadlines to students:
 

Sunday, September 8 

Last day for instructors to drop students as a "no show"

Last day for students to drop classes and qualify for refunds

Last day for students to add classes

Last day for students to drop classes without a "W"

 

Sunday, November 17

Last day for students to "withdraw" from classes

OPEN ENROLLMENT: SEPTEMBER 16 - OCTOBER 11
Monday, September 16 through Friday, October 11 has been designated as the NOCCCD Open Enrollment period for health, dental and vision plans available through the District's Optional Fringe Benefit Program.  Open enrollment materials will be delivered through campus mail and will be arriving via campus within the next few days.

 

To assist in planning, the District Office of Human Resources/Benefits Office will be sponsoring Open Enrollment Health Fairs at each campus.

FOUNDATION FUNDING DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 13

The annual deadline to apply for Fullerton College Foundation funds is

Friday, September 13. To request funds, fill out the Fullerton College Foundation Funding Request Form, available on the J Drive, under Forms and Procedures - Foundation Funding. Please note - this is the only time proposals will be accepted. There will not be a spring 2014 call for proposals. 

 

Once the signed form has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the President and Vice Presidents. Those funding requests that are determined to best meet college goals will be forwarded to the Fullerton College Foundation.

FULLERTON COLLEGE ATHLETICS ROUND-UP
FOOTBALL: The FC football team opened up the 2013 season on the road at Long Beach City College on Saturday night as they dismantled the Vikings 41-21.  Up Next: The Hornets (1-0) will hit the road again at Cerritos College (1-0) on Saturday, September 14.  Kickoff is 7 pm.

CROSS COUNTRY: The FC women's team won the Palomar Invitational as Hornet sophomore Maegan Garritson was the individual champion running 20:10 out of 98 runners.   Daisy Esparza 20:34, Elena Estrada 21:33, Taylor Morico 21:36, Daniela Rubio 21:42, Diana Ortega 22:14, and Itzel Mendoza 24:00 were the top seven runners for this meet.  The men's team finished 6
th out of 8 teams.  Pablo Perez was the first man to cross the finish line for the Hornets,  running 24:03 for the four mile course.  Soon behind him was Brandon Velasco 24:13, Alfredo Coria 24:26 then a gapped formed with Moises Cuahutles 25:48 and Patrick Tarango 26:28 finishing the top five runners.  Kenneth Veltre 27:23 and Jorge Cisneros 27:51 rounded out the top seven men runners for the Hornets.  There were 82 total men in the race. VOLLEYBALL:  The Lady Hornets cut through Palomar College at home Friday night beating the Comets 3-0.  Up Next:  FC (2-0) will travel to Cerritos College on Wednesday, September 11.  Game time is 6 pm. 

WOMEN'S GOLF: The Hornets took 4th out of 12 teams competing at the Ventura College Invitational at Olivas Links on Saturday and Sunday.  The FC team tallied an overall score of 311.  .

MEN'S SOCCER:  The FC men's soccer team earned their first win on the season on Friday blanking Glendale 5-0 on the road on Friday.  Up Next: The Hornets (1-1) will host Pasadena City College on Tuesday, September 10.  Game time is 3 pm.

WOMEN'S SOCCER:  The Lady Hornets dropped one at Rio Hondo College on Friday as they lost to the Roadrunners 4-2.  Up Next: FC (0-2) will look to earn their first win on the young season at San Bernardino Valley College on Tuesday, September 10.  Game time is 4 pm.
