AIDS MEMORIAL QUILT ON DISPLAY IN LLRC THROUGH FRIDAY
|
AIDS affects men, women, and children all around the world - an estimated 40,000 Americans contract HIV each year, half of which are younger than 25 years. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, an average of at least one American under the age of 22 becomes infected with HIV every hour of every day. World AIDS Day started on December 1, 1988, in an effort to increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education. One of the methods of awareness is The AIDS Memorial Quilt which symbolizes hope and remembrance of those who have passed due to the AIDS epidemic.
Fullerton College Health Services has the privilege, once again, of displaying four panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in the Library foyer. The quilts are on display now through Friday, November 30. Health Services will also be hosting their annual World AIDS Day event on Thursday, November 29 from 10 am - 1 pm in front of the Library. Community organizations will be hosting information tables and Health Services will also be continuing to provide free, confidential HIV testing to students.

WORKFORCE CENTER HOSTING ASK THE EMPLOYERS PANEL
|
The Workforce Center is hosting an Ask the Employers Panel, next Wednesday, December 5 at 12 noon in room 224. Often what hinders job seekers from succeeding in the competitive job market is a lack of knowledge about the interview process.
