Winter Cycling 101: Your guide to being a 365 cyclist
Here are some tips to keep in mind when you're heading out on your bike this winter: Choose your route to work based on conditions - Busy streets tend to have less snow and ice, however have narrower thoroughfares.
- Less travelled roads and bike paths are generally safer but can be covered with hard snow and ice.
Winterize your bike and yourself: - Use wide tires with knobs and wear well-layered reflective clothing.
Practice your technique: - Try not to brake hard on road ice and try using only your rear brake.
