Stamp Out Hunger! The 23rd annual National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive
|
It's the largest one-day food drive in America, and it's made possible by thousands of letter carriers who volunteer their time to participate as well as countless thousands of volunteers who help sort, collect and distribute much needed food to local food banks and pantries across the country.
On Saturday, May 9th, place non-perishable food donations where
your letter carrier delivers your mail. Your letter carrier will deliver these items to your local food bank. Food collected in Pulaski County will benefit the Arkansas Foodbank.
Since the drive began in 1992, Letter Carriers have collected over 1.3 billion pounds of food nationally, including 73 million pounds in 2014. Many volunteers will be needed to help sort and box donated food. Shifts are available from 5:00pm-10:00pm. For information or to volunteer, call Polly Deems at 501.569.432.

Save The Date! THV11 Back To School Blitz August 3rd - August 7th, 2015
|
There are more than 53,000 students in the Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pulaski County School Districts. Approximately 20,000 of these students are economically disadvantaged children. Many are from single-parent families, and many of the children come to school each year lacking the basic school supplies needed for classroom work.
The Heart of Arkansas United Way saw a need to try to address the needs of these children and to help prevent early school failure for at risk youth. Since that time the program has expanded to other counties served by the Heart of Arkansas United Way.
Each year, THV 11 partners with the United Way to help provide school supplies for these children. This year the school supple drive will be held August 3rd - August 7th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. We will be at the following locations:
Monday, August 3rd, 2015 - Jacksonville Wal-Mart Tuesday, August 4th, 2015 - West Little Rock Wal-Mart (Bowman)
Wednesday, August 5th, 2015-Maumelle Wal-Mart (Maumelle Blvd)
Thursday, August 6th, 2015 - Bryant Wal-Mart
Friday, August 7th, 2015 - Little Rock Wal-Mart (Baseline) For more information, please contact Denver Landers at (501) 376-4567.
