If you haven't already found us, we have an Official Johnstone page on Facebook. Check us out over there!

I know I always start out talking about the weather, but when you're married to a farmer, you live by the weather. Wet, dry, hot, or cold, we plan our days according to Mother Nature and she is often a fickle friend. I know some of you are still battling snow and freezing temperatures and it seems like here it is cold one day and too hot the next. I sure do hope that spring will have truly sprung in the next couple of weeks so we can get on with the planting!

Being stuck inside isn't always a bad thing, though, and I am really excited with what we've got for you this month! The first in the new series, Texas John Slaughter is out and some of you have already given me some great feedback on the new sheriff of Cochise County. He is indeed a force to be reckoned with and only time will tell if he can really bring peace to Tombstone.

And a lot of you have been asking about Duff, and he's back this month in Kill Crazy. One thing is for sure, you don't want to start picking on innocents when he's around, much less go on a killing spree. There's no doubt who'll be the one to bring the outlaws to justice.

Now that my daughter's back here in the office, I've got a little bit more time to spend keeping in touch with y'all so we've started an Official Fan Club - check out the details on that at the end!

I better be going for now, we're trying to get the finishing touches put on a greenhouse that the wind is already trying to blow over. Never a dull day around here!

I do want to thank you for all your prayers as I have been struggling with some health problems, they have been most welcome and I keep working hard on getting better.  Right now, though, I ask that you keep those families mourning in Fort Hood for the loss of their loved ones and to those that are trying to recover from injuries in this week's tragic shooting.

And as always, pray for our soldiers at home and overseas, that they will be safe from harm and know how grateful we are for their service.

God Bless, and until next time, keep your powder dry!

Jo~

Forget keeping the peace. This is war.

It's been barely a decade since the notorious gunfight at the O.K. Corral. Rustlers and outlaws still terrorize the land, and the good citizens of Tombstone are at the end of their ropes.

Enter Texas John Slaughter-the new sheriff of Cochise County and the toughest lawman west of the Rio Grande. With a young pretty wife, a sprawling cattle ranch, and a backbone of steel to match the iron law of his badge, Texas John is determined to bring peace to this parched desert hell even if it kills him. Which it just might.

When word gets out about an untapped vein of silver in the Dragoon Mountains, every man in town heads for the hills. Which makes the empty streets of Tombstone an easy target for raiders, looters-and one gang of outlaws foolish enough to kidnap Slaughter's wife.

Shooting Is The Only Way Out

In a town like Chugwater, Wyoming, you know who your friends are, who your enemies are, and who your kill-crazy maniacs are. For Duff MacCallister, the last category belongs to Johnny Taylor and his gang. Duff has wrestled with this polecat before, and knows that his bite is worse than his smell. But when Taylor's gang tries to rob a bank--and Duff manages to shoot one and arrest Taylor's brother--the outraged outlaw raises a stink straight out of hell.

First, he begins to randomly slaughter innocent townsfolk one by one. Then, he leaves a note on the bodies warning: "We will kill more of your citizens if you do not let my brother go." Now, he's kidnapped a woman as bait--lighting a fuse under Duff MacCallister that's bound to ignite the biggest, bloodiest showdown in Chugwater history. . .

With two great western releases this month, we thought it couldn't be a better time to start up an Official Johnstones Western book Fan Club over on Facebook. This is a great place for y'all to get together online and discuss new releases, old books, favorites, and to meet others who are a part of the Johnstone 'family'. You'll run into me, Jo, on there, and my daughter Heather, too. We love seeing our friends on there every day and being able to keep in touch.

We'll also be holding a couple contests on there this year and be giving away some t-shirts, decals, who knows what else! So click the link above and we'll see you there!
