Frustration tops list of packaging concerns

The difficulties in opening different types of packs are of far greater concern to consumers than environmental criticisms such as perceived over-packaging. This is one of the findings of a major quantitative research study carried out to identify and understand consumers' concerns with packaging. Significantly, 85% of those who took part in the study said they had experienced some frustration with packs.

FDA Releases Pair of Food Safety Requirements

On December 4, 2012 the FDA released two draft rule proposals for food safety that will allow the FDA to shift its focus to preventing, rather than simply reacting to, food-borne illnesses. Despite the delay, public health advocates heralded the proposals as a major step in implementing the landmark FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) that President Obama signed into law two years ago.
