We know you regularly visit our library of FREE downloads, and your feedback tells us you like what you find. Whatever your new term looks like, we hope the activities help you navigate towards the best possible relationships with students and colleagues. After all, those relations are the bedrock of life and learning and a happy school environment.

We love to visit schools and work with staff teams too, so contact us anytime to enquire about emotional wellbeing training.

We look forward to working with you.

Let's teach positive mental health

"The mental health of our children must be seen as every bit as important as their physical health," the Duchess of Cambridge wrote recently. Increasingly, we are becoming more aware of how important the care of our minds is.

Many of us take a fairly positive attitude to our physical health. Right from an early age at school we learn the importance of PE and fresh air and a healthy body.

In my school days sports was highlighted and nothing was more wholesome than a good long distance run. All this was helpful in our physical development and yet how much time and resources were spent on our mental health? Visit any park in the sunshine and you witness all the joggers, dog walkers and mums watching their children run and climb. Our gyms are overflowing and yet we still struggle to even speak of mental health.

This is a massive imbalance and that is why we created VisionWorks.

LGBT

Great news! We've been talking to our friend who is a PSHE consultant. When mentioned proactively addressing LGBT issues in schools, she recommended the following books. We know you will find them helpful. You're welcome.

What Makes a Baby by Cory Silverberg

Space Girl Pukes by Katy Watson

King and King by Linda de Haan and Stern Nijland (For teens)

This Book is Gay by James Dawson

Take Control of the Noisy Class: From chaos to calm in 15 seconds

We're happy to endorse Rob Plevin's new book, out just last week. Rob is a behaviour management trainer who has successfully taught in some of the most challenging settings. He has nailed that teaching is about relationships and he offers so many ways to get through to students, the pace and variety is dizzying!

"Written with humour, wisdom and a good eye for the practical, with numerous tips on how to make lessons fun. This is backed up with resources available on his website. His respect for staff and students alike is heart warming. You are missing a trick if you don't buy this book; it could transform your work life."
