Public Meeting Set for Fiscal Year 2018 Staff Recommended Budget

  
The Calvert County Department of Finance & Budget will present the Fiscal Year 2018 Staff Recommended Budget to the Board of County Commissioners March 21 at the Calvert Pines Senior Center in Prince Frederick. The staff presentation is scheduled for 7 p.m. and residents are encouraged to attend the meeting and comment.

Upcoming Clinics Offer Free Rabies Vaccinations for Pets

The Calvert County Health Department is sponsoring rabies clinics in the coming weeks, offering free rabies vaccinations for county pets. The free clinics are scheduled as follows: 

Saturday, April 8
Huntingtown High School
4125 Solomons Island Road

Saturday, April 22
Patuxent High School
12485 Southern Connector Blvd.

Clinics will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Proof of prior vaccination is required to receive the three-year vaccine. Eligible pets include cats, dogs and ferrets in carriers or on leashes and muzzled if necessary. This is an open-air clinic with no special facilities to vaccinate animals that cannot be restrained by their owners.

Calvert County pet licenses will also be available. Licenses are $7 for spayed or neutered pets (proof required) and $20 for those not spayed or neutered. 


County Celebrates Completion of New Prince Frederick Water Tower

  
The Board of County Commissioners recently celebrated the completion of the new water tower in Prince Frederick. The tower stands next to Calvert High School on Fox Run Boulevard and adds 217,000 gallons of daily water production capacity and 750,000 gallons of water storage capacity. This new infrastructure will support current and future commercial and residential requirements and improve fire service in Prince Frederick.
