12 Days of Christmas in Calvert County

There is so much to see and do in Calvert County in December as businesses and residents deck their halls with bayside flair. Come view the glimmering boat decorations and visit quaint shops in the historic riverside town of Solomons. See a Christmas tree made from crab pots in Chesapeake Beach. Wander a wooded path and watch a glittery light show come to life before your eyes at Annmarie Sculpture Garden. Treasured holiday memories are waiting for you.


If you're having a hard time picking out that perfect gift, we've got a few creative ideas for you to brighten the season for those you cherish. Saturday, Nov. 26, is Small Business Saturdays, a day to celebrate and support local businesses and all they do for their communities. For the 12 days that follow, hold on to your Santa hat as we give you an idea a day of where to get distinctive gifts you can only find in Calvert County.

And even though sneaking a peek at the presents isn't allowed before the BIG day, we're offering a glance of what's in store for all of Santa's shopping helpers:

On the first day of shopping: Local museum gift Local museum gift shops are a great source for unique items including science kits, stuffed animals, art supplies, books, jewelry and more. Learn more.

On the second day of shopping: Give the gift of art. Visit a gallery or artisan along the Patuxent Arts Trail. Choose from award-winning work influenced by the region's natural beauty or give a budding artist inspiration through classes or lessons.

On the third day of shopping: Treat someone to Calvert County's supreme cuisine with a gift card to a local restaurant. From seafood to sushi, there are choices for every palate. Calvert County's Restaurant Week will be Feb. 19-28 in 2017. Plan your date night now!
