See the Watery Part
of the World

Calvert County is nothing if not a
nautical mecca. With unique access to the brackish waters of the Chesapeake Bay and fresh waters of the Patuxent River, it's the perfect destination for boaters of all vessel sizes and styles to discover their own adventures.

Now is the time of year when locals and travelers from afar head out for watersports, casual cruises or sanctioned races. When the sun sets over the river, mariners share their tales at local marinas and waterside towns. Make your summer memories here.

Put in and Set off
Ample dockside amenities and natural beauty are found at each of Calvert County's 16 public marinas, seven boat ramps and five kayak ramps. Visit online for a full listing of boat ramps, launches, marinas, charter opportunities, rental sites and tours.

Fair Winds, Stiff Competition
If kicking back and watching heated competition is more your style, Calvert County is the place to be in July and August to watch crews challenge the north-flowing Gulf Stream currents and winds. Local races and regattas bring international competitors and regional fans to Calvert County's shores.

Calvert County Cool
Beat the Heat
with These Treats

Southern Maryland's summer heat can be oppressive, yet we look forward to subduing the sizzle on National Ice Cream Day Sunday, July 17. Calvert County offers quite a few cool places to enjoy frosty (and frothy) beverages and desserts to soothe the highest of temperatures and the most discriminating of palates.

After a day of fun in the sun, cool down at one of the many Italian ice stands, ice cream parlors or frozen yogurt
shops that speckle the scenic byways of Calvert County's town centers. Call ahead for hours of operation and visit them all season!
