School is almost out and the kids are looking for outside fun now that the weather is warming up. There are plenty of fun things for your family to do in Calvert County in May that will help make winter a distant memory.

Don't miss Heritage Farm Day on May 1 at the Biscoe GrayHeritage Farm when history comes alive. Walk nature trails, take farm tours and hear naturalists share stories about this beautiful 196 acres touted as a "living laboratory" of Native American settlements and small-scale colonial farming.

Calvert County offers a variety of other fun ways to keep families moving. Hundreds of miles of county trails and waterways can be enjoyed through cycling, hiking, birdwatching or paddling. Calvert County is committed to its environment as evidenced by its many preserved sites and pristine areas.

Local farmers markets open in May and everyone looks forward to the fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, flowers and plants that come straight from Calvert County producers. Season for Beautiful Swimmers

Great Golf at Chesapeake Hills  

With more than $1.5 million in recent course improvements, the Chesapeake Hills Golf Course is ready to show off its new and improved features. Glorious golfing awaits.

The 18-hole course features Bermuda grass fairways on gently rolling hills surrounded by towering trees. The panoramic setting includes several lakes and creeks that meander through the course to create a unique design that offers golfers of all levels the ultimate in scenery and challenges. The course boasts 6,545 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.3 and it has a slope rating of 126.
