Plans are currently underway for Calvert County's 10th annual Business Appreciation Week to occur the week of May 4-8. Watch the Department of Economic Development website and your inbox for updates and additional information, but you can look forward to a week of free workshops and training opportunities, networking events for business professionals and special activities designed to highlight and celebrate the contributions made by our local business community.

 

eMaryland Marketplace (eMM), the State of Maryland's Internet-based procurement system, is a business tool that provides an efficient means to improve vendor access to state and county procurement information. eMM provides greater opportunities for small businesses, secures competitive prices for the state and county and enhances the efficiency and timeliness of the procurement process.

 

eMaryland Marketplace publishes solicitations via the Internet to potential bidders, providing equal access to solicitation information. It is also the resource for electronic bid submission. In addition, the system allows vendors to obtain bid results online once the due date and time for bid submission has passed. Becoming a subscriber to eMM places company information into the online business directory to assist vendors in growing their businesses. As registered vendors on eMM, interested bidders can browse solicitations or subscribe to receive email notifications when solicitations matching a business profile are published.

This certification is a nationally recognized professional credential that demonstrates an individual's competency in international trade and means Kathy has gained substantial knowledge identifying markets for products; the selection of foreign partners; shipping products; export regulations and controls; and international payment methods.
