Robots + Us
On Display through April 28, 2013
Learn to build a "better 'bot" at the Mayborn Museum Complex in our new special traveling exhibit on display in the Thomas E. and Emilyne Weed Anding Traveling Exhibition Gallery. Robots + Us is a playful look at how biology and engineering are coming together to close the gap between reality and our robot dreams.
Robots + Us was produced by the Science Museum of Minnesota and funding was provided by the National Science Foundation.

Draw a Bot Contest

Robots come in countless shapes and sizes and are designed to do many different jobs. If you could create your own robot, how would it look and what would it do?
Get inspired by Robots + Us! After visiting the exhibit, use your imagination and the sheets of paper provided in a packet that can be picked up at the museum to draw your own robot and tell us what it can do.
Entries must be submitted by February 18. Five winners will be chosen, each receiving a prize.
Call Rebecca Tucker Nall for more information: (254)710-7981.

"Understanding Disabilities through Children's Art" On Display February 23- June 2, 2013
This art exhibit consisting of thirteen pieces was produced by faculty and students of the Baylor School of Social Work with assistance from VSA Texas, The international Organization on Arts and Disability. The exhibit includes colorful and creative artwork from children around the state of Texas who live with mental, learning or physical challenges, such as ADHD, deafness, dyslexia and autism. Interactive elements in the exhibit include thought-provoking words by the artists as well as a discussion booklet for parents to use to discuss physical and mental health disabilities with their own children. Baylor School of Social Work hopes it creates an opportunity to decrease the stigma children that are differently abled experience.
