GOVERNOR SIGNS STATE-WIDE PLASTIC BAG BAN
For about a year the City of Mountain View, like some other cities, has had the plastic bag ban. It's now going state-wide. SB 270 was recently signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown and would prohibit single-use bags starting in July 2015.Businesses would start charging 10-cent fees to provide customers with reusable or paper bags.  The new piece of legislation will also provide up to $2 million in competitive loans (administered by CalRecycle) to businesses transitioning to the manufacture of reusable bags.
